Went in to purchase a kayak, roof rack, paddle, and all other necessary accessories. Before we even got to the boating section of the store, there were tons of employees offering their help. This is important to me in a sporting or camping goods store because I usually have a lot of questions about similar products and stuff. The store was also really neat and clean, which I like; sometimes when I go to Dunham's I'm turned off by the disorganization and poor representation of products.
Anyway, everyone was really knowledgeable and willing to let me try out every single kayak in the store. They had some great boats, and right before I had been at REI which had a disappointing in-store selection. Dick's employees helped me assemble the roof rack and sent me home safe and happy, at a super reasonable price considering I am on a student budget.
Can't wait to go back for some kayak accessories and fishing gear; they've got some really high quality stuff!...
Read moreI’m not sure what’s going on with this location but it’s almost like they’re getting rid of their fishing/camping gear all together.
We’re well into spring and the fishing/camping season has started. I went to pick up some things a few weeks ago and the shelves were disheveled with every limited stock. Thinking I was just too early I came back again today and it’s even worse. The camping section is now like two half isles, the fishing section is down to just 4 isles with 1 pack/product on every peg to make it look fuller than it is. Most items are lacking any and all variety. Good luck finding something in a length/color that you want.
I’d say your local grocery/super center has more stock and variety than this “sporting goods” store, which seems to only sell clothes at this point. There’s no way you could use this store as your primary source...
Read moreWhen did the world decide that you needed to scan shoes at a kiosk and wait for someone to bring them out for your kid to try on? Like seriously this is really what it has come to? Waited ten minutes and surprise!, still did not get any service, they were not even busy. Had the wife and kid walk out while i did 1.5 laps until I found an employee just to tell them how horrible of a setup they have. Went two stores down to Kohls and they had exactly what we needed, no technology, just shoes on the shelf, grab what you need/want and move on. I swore off dicks awhile back due to everything being overpriced and terrible customer service, gave it chance for my son's shoes, wont ever make that...
