Planet Fitness — Local services in Pittsfield

In the 8 months there, the roof leaked so much that 5 buckets became fixtures. No hot water in the showers for 10 days. Toilets that are a little funky to flush, mens urinals that go on the fritz, recurring failed sinks, broken paper towel dispensers and for several weeks, I had use for a safety helmet when the showerhead would blast off the wall and hit me in the head. I fixed it myself. The showers are poorly constructed and plumbing unreliable. When I complained about no hot water, the creature masquerading as a staff person said.. It's only been 3 days!! At a gym, with subpar ventilation, where you go to sweat.. Iffy... 20% of the machines need major maintenance or repairs. I am there to exercise and be healthier.

I find several staff to be too nosey at times.

It is 10 bucks a month. Do not expect to be in a swank place. There are all grades of members.. Nonstop body builders, spinners, runners. A very diverse group. I saw the personal trainer for 10 days. Not sure he is still there. I hit treadmills hard. 25% of the time, socializers yak so loud that my headphones cannot block them out. So, I was miffed when staff criticized my use of a cellphone when I was exiting. Huh?

For 10 a month, you get a place to exercise. Do not expect more. Unless there are very significant improvements, I will not renew. I would rather pay a little more and get much more.

P.S. Pfitness told me to speak with the manager. Pardon, but, since the management has heard these very same criticisms from many members, has heard them from me, has not improved the premises, why should I waste my time to do that again? This kind of lack of accountability, callous disregard of management, failed equipment is not the kind of thing the locals have corrected. This is the job of THE FRANCHISE ISSUER, NOT THE MEMBERSHIP. FYI PLANET FITNESS, YOUR NO 'JUDGEMENT ZONE', IS IN ERROR. Your illiteracy is shocking. Judgment has no E in the middle. Why anyone would expect appropriate treatment from an illiterate crowd is silly. Correct your spelling.

I AM FURIOUS WITH THE KIND OF BOILERPLATE, MEALY RESPONSE FROM PLANET FITNESS. MAYBE THEY SHOULD BE THERE TODAY WHEN SOMEONE USED THE MENS' ROOM AND THE SMELL PERMEATED FOR NEARLY AN HOUR. TURN ON THE VENTILATION, AIR CONDITIONING, FANS. WHAT IS WRONG WITH THIS PLACE?

Google sent me the PFit response. FYI. If you try to reach the corporate office, via their website, FORGET IT.. they have NO WAY to reach them email wise. FYI, neither does Google Guide. I invite everyone to go and see this place. If this has more than a 1.5 or 2.0 rating, then, I am suspicious of the people...

UPDATE; I HAVE SENT A RESPONSE AS THEY ASKED ME TO SEE IF THEY WANT TO RETURN THE MONEY THEY STOLE AFTER PAYING FOR MY LAST 30 DSYS THEY REVOKED MY ACCESS THAT DAY STEALKNG 40, BECAUSE THEY HAD A WAY OF ASKING MY BANK FOR THIS TWICE SO AFTER MY BANK PAID THEY HIT ME AGAIN MAKING MY BANK DENY THE FEE AND PLANET FITNESS CHARGED ME 40 DOLLARS 9 OUT OF TEN MONTHS. AND I WAS TOLD I HAD UNTIL SEPT 16 BUT WAS REVOKED ON AUG 21, ENOUGH TIME FIR THEM TO TAKE MY 25, HIT MY BSNK AGAIN AND ASK FOR 4O...And the treadmills are set at an incline when set at 0 incline, meaning they are INSTALLED at an incline, it's got to be 2 percent. I know this because I cant run five minutes on the treadmills here at 5 miles an hour but I was at the YMCA today abd ran with the treadmill set at 0.5 or 5 tenths of a percent incline and I ran at between 5.5 and 6.0 mph for 45 minutes without too much effort but at planet fitness I would last only 1 minute at 5.5 MPH with incline set at 0. The other thing is my bank pays the money it's supposed to be all set then somehow gets kicked back and I owe a late fee this happens over and over so instead of paying 25 I pay 40, the day I paid I canceled was supposed to get the last month I paid for but immediately got kicked off the App which means I again am not getting everything I paid for even if they let me workout in the club with the messed up treadmills I paid for another month which includes the...

One star today. Intenet WiFi out. And no one seems to be aware or concerned

5.31.24 still one star. All matrix products are designed to sync up with Apple Watches. This function worked well in the past but not at all at present except for the two bike trainers. I personally like the data generated when the watch and exercise equipment sync and communicate. I ask often and usually get blank stares. Seems as if you carry and feature a certain brand of equipment , members should be able to fully use all of its features. I realize this is a mi or concern but it does matter to me.

8.11.24 internet issues again. Apple Watch did connect briefly to the treadmills for four sessions and today not working. And now watch connectivity to the bike trainer not enabled as well. One star at best. Pain.
