On 10/02/21 my friends and I came to this restaurant. We’re generally regulars and service can be hit or miss, but tonight we dealt with the most appalling service I’ve seen in a restaurant to date. There were issues from the start: the appetizers weren’t brought out until I followed up with the server twice. Worse still, the entrees were all incorrect to the potential detriment to our health. I have a severe allergy to mustard and when I asked the server what was in the “signature sauce,” he said he didn’t know so I just asked for it on the side. When my burger came out, there was sauce on the burger as well as on the side. I asked the server again what the sauce was and informed him of my allergy, and when he asked the manager he returned saying it was just mayo and ketchup. Thank God I didn’t take a bite because the manager came over a few minutes later and told me the sauce is HONEY MUSTARD and BBQ. I asked them to remake it and they did. Both my friends’ burgers were raw (mine only wasn’t because it was an Impossible burger and couldn't be raw). When my boyfriend asked for his to be redone, they came back with a completely different burger and by then we’d just given up. The server avoided us constantly and only came to check on us after our plates sat uneaten for half an hour, then again after an hour. He made no effort to fix the problems, and we paid the full bill for inedible food that we had to put too much work into getting fixed. The manager never even checked on us after the debacle with my food except to bring it to me. And, although not a real issue but definitely the cherry on top of an awful night out, the whiskey my boyfriend ordered was extremely watered down and in a martini glass?? (Photo for proof bc I wouldn’t have believed it if I didn’t see it) We won’t be coming back...
Read moreWent to the 99 in Pittsfield, MA the other night. I am frequent visitor and typically never have any problems. We were seated and our waiter came right over to take our drink order. Then we waited about 10 minutes before he returned again to give us our drinks and take our food order. We ordered the Royal Sirloin with veggies & coleslaw and Roast Beef Pub Dip sandwich with coleslaw. About 30 minutes later, I started scanning the restaurant for our waiter and he was nowhere to be seen. There were other waitress just sitting at a booth chatting with each other. It was past 8pm on a Monday night, so it was not very busy. 45 minutes later, after we saw two other tables come in, order, eat, pay and leave, our food finally arrived. We were warned that the plates were extremely hot, and they were basically on fire. We were asked to cut into our medium rare steak and found it be well done with no pink inside at all. The waiter said it took so long because he had to make coleslaw and was now going back to get another steak. Since our food obviously sat under a heat lamp for at least 25 minutes, we decided to leave. We found another waitress and asked for the manager, Matt, who came over and just apologized once but didn’t seem like he cared at all. We offered to pay for our beverages and he declined and we walked out. It saddens me that one of my favorite restaurants in Pittsfield, MA has gone so downhill. I don’t understand how the management does not show one ounce of caring for their position or the reputation of 99. I understand mistakes happen, but we should have been offered a better solution than just leaving and trying to find another place to eat after 8:30pm on a Monday night. I and my friends and family won’t be returning to this...
Read moreThe 99's are not like your ordinary corporate chains. Yes, it carries the consistency of what most corporations strive to fulfill and that's consistent menus items mirroring every restaurant; knowing you're going to get exactly the same product in every location. However, the Pittsfield location is top notch in every facet. The service is exceptional and consistent no matter what the volume of the restaurant is, one table to a full house, you're taken care of well. The atmosphere is perfect for all occasions. Dinner with the kids, an evening out with friends, date night, or Grandma's birthday. The staff are more like close friends, even family, than just regular servers. They go above and beyond for you if it's your first time there or a regular guest. The take out service is just as impressive! The solid team they have expediting from front of the house to behind the kitchen line, leaves little room for turnover. In this kind of industry, you rarely see longevity of staff let alone the majority of staff. That speaks volumes! I'm excited about the new menu options and know they will not disappoint. The menu is vast, carrying beef, chicken, seafood, and salad options making sure there is something for everyone! Even the kids menu is advanced and modeled like smaller entrees and not just grilled cheese. The bar is stocked with all the likings you may desire, a few housemade cocktails, food if you'd like and plenty of TVs to cover all the current sporting events. I, personally, highly recommend the Gold Fever wings or the lobster bisque and definitely the prime rib when available. I have never had a poor experience! Do yourself a favor and be the...
