Smoke and Mirrors. I was in a hurry to get internet service after my roommate passed, as the internet/cable was under his name. So even after reading the horrible reviews. I just went with it, to my local Spectrum store. Liar 1: The sales rep, lied. I just wanted internet, I hardly ever watch cable. He tried repeatedly insisting Xumo was 'Free' with my purchase of internet. Repeatedly I said I don't watch tv, I won't use it. SEVEN times, he told me it was FREE. With my purchase of internet. I get my first bill, its NOT FREE. $40.00. Liar 2: SO I call Spectrum, not the store and tell them I was lied to, and want a refund. (All along Spectrum keep calling me to 'Help me' connect Xumo, so they DO KNOW that its actually NOT being used.) So he woman tells me she will remove the $40. charge for he Xumo. And offered me a different package, that included internet and cell phone service that dropped the price of internet, and added cell service for an about the same price that I was being currently charged for internet. The bill comes, and the $40. charge was NOT removed. But I was given a discount of $14.51. Trickery: So I called again and want to dispute that charge, hey tell me I can't because its past the 60 day window. Which all seems calculated to get the customer waiting for the next bill, if you don't deliberately check online to see if it had indeed been removed. I am leaving Spectrum, I will not support Musks Starlink, so off...
Read moreIt stinks in that store like some kind of chemical, so bad I almost had to leave. They also don't carry boxes for whole house DVR so I either had to wait for a new box to come in the mail, when leaving for vacation in a few days, or just switch to regular cable boxes. They said at first that they could format it to work, but after speaking with 3 different people on the phone I chose the latter. I ran out of patience and thought my my outrageous bill would go down... nope! They said I wasn't being charged for the previous service when my bill is almost 240 a month! They definitely don't care about their subscribers, especially those who have been with them for years and always pay on time. I told them they need to start offering incentives to get people to stay instead of getting people to join since people are going to subscription services. The only positive thing was the guy working that day, Robbie I think, and he was there from the North Adams store. I really wish that we could get more reliable options around here because it's ridiculous what they can...
Read moreI had a horrible experience with this store and Spectrum, in general. I had a new cell phone; I was trying to save money and add a line to our extant phone service. I switched providers, had Spectrum Dude transfer the phone service from my old phone and ATT over to Spectrum. He said the phone was "working." However, he sent me across the street to the Vape and Wireless store to transfer all my apps. The owner of that store told me that neither one of my two phones now worked and intimated that I should have stayed with ATT. I went back to ATT but was unable to recover my previous phone number. I then went back to complain to Spectrum, and the Spectrum Dude told me, "I warned you that your phone might not work because you bought it in Canada." Dude did not tell me that; in fact, Dude did not transfer my apps, Dude did not want to help me. I will NEVER Recommend their...
