We saw that this Daiso was opening up Saturday, December 14. So we went in right before noon to check it out cause that building it was occupying used to be a gym that we we went to at the start of the year.
I must say I didn't love my interaction at the end when I was checking out though. I saw there was a table at the checkout and I was informed and found out that if you spent $30 you get to acquire a daiso branded goodie bag with little things in it they put in there. I made two separate transactions because my sister and mother came up after my purchase at the checkout line so then I did another transaction with the exact same card. So after paying, I thought I might as well grab the goodie bag since I did spend $30. My first transaction was $19 and my other was $12. I was gonna go grab it and see but I didn't want any trouble so I asked the lady nearby. I gave her my receipts and she looked at them after I have been standing there trying to get this bag for a a little bit and told me, "sorry it has to be under the same transaction." Fortunately I didn't care too much about the goodie bag so I just grabbed my receipt back and went along my merry way. It just soured my mood cause I didn't like the reaction as well as before I approached the goodie bags there was another Asian individual who just went up and acquired his with no problem or dialogue but it just seemed that mine just had to be different. I felt I was treated a little differently and unfair but it's not a big deal.
Overall, the layout isn't terrible, it's a little packed though. It looks pretty decent inside and somewhat kinda organized. It's nice that this one had a self checkout cause that was always a problem with Daiso's and their wait time. There selection of stuff definitely wasn't the best I've seen and was lacking but it is a first day. The area the Daiso is located in is also not a great spot with weird parking and hard traffic and roads to get through in and out. I can't say it's really worth the trouble but if your in that plaza then stop in.
I much rather recommend going to the other stores in Frisco and East Plano. Most especially the Frisco one is a great area and is much bigger with a better selection and they always treat you very well, handle things well and are quick and kind. So if you haven't been to a Daiso I highly recommend skipping this location and going to the Frisco if not the East Plano one. I don't see this one being necessary or even too great of an addition at all considering all I've said and the proximity to the other ones.
Always thanks for having me, it wasn't completely terrible just definitely a 2/5 at most...
Read more(Discriminatory Behavior by staff) I’ve been a regular customer at this store for weeks, but I was deeply disturbed by my experience yesterday. I came into the store around 12:00 PM and left at 12:15 PM, and during that entire time, I was followed around the store in a very uncomfortable and excessive manner.
While shopping with my two children, a staff member approached and asked, "Are you aware of our prices?" which I found odd since I am familiar with the store. What followed was even more troubling. The clerk started following us very closely around the store, repeatedly circling us. When my children moved to another area of the store without me, the clerk continued to watch them closely and kept circling the section they were in. I thought this might have been coincidental, but when I moved to another part of the store alone, the same thing happened—the clerk kept following me around, making the entire experience extremely uncomfortable.
The behavior felt excessive and invasive, and it became clear that I was being treated unfairly, especially as a person of color. This continued for the entire 15-minute visit, and ultimately, I decided to leave and return all of my items. When I exited the store, I asked the clerk for her name, and she told me it was Ash.
As a loyal customer, I expect to be treated with respect, and this experience was not only unsettling but also hurtful. I hope the store reviews its staff’s behavior and takes action to ensure all customers are treated with dignity and respect, without feeling targeted...
Read moreBig and beautiful, this Daiso brings some much needed retail to a plaza that was pretty barren. It's larger than the store on Spring Creek, and probably has a similar amount of merchandise as the store near the Carrollton HMart. It's well organized, bright and clean.
If you've never been to Daiso before, you're in for a treat. The merchandise is well-priced, with many items costing $2.25, and of much higher quality than the dollar trio (Dollar Tree, Dollar General, and Family Dollar). Some items are uniquely Japanese, but many are things we all find familiar. I've been going to Daiso since I was on a trip to Japan, and was so glad to find it here.
Don't have it and need it? You'll probably find...
