I love it here, it feels inspiring and exciting to see so many cool creative hobbies and ideas in one place. Its like going to bass pro shop or academy sports and outdoors for people who like…sports and outdoors, but for DIY crafting and artsy projects!!! It’s not any new place, we all know what Michaels is, but in case you don’t….
Michaels sells things to do that you can make with your hands and using your creativity. They have a decent variety of seasonal decor, arts and crafts supplies, fake flowers, picture frames and differ professional framing. Having a free membership helps with savings and discounts because it’s definitely pricey, but beware; they will email and text you every single day with “DEALS!!”
It is also a great place to buy an unexpected super cool gift for someone. Tons of great activity sets appropriately aged for kids-adults science sets, beads, clay, painting, model cars/airplanes, diamond painting, jewelry making kit/supplies are only a very few offered. Really, endless creative possibilities here.
This store is quiet, clean, and the people working here are always kind, not pushy. You’re greeted when you walk in, but no one follows around or interrupts offering to help, great for not being pressured into buying something. Someone is nearby cleaning or sweeping if you do want help, but you’re going to have to ask for assistance, so don’t be shy.
One notable point is that the staff working there may not know much about the exact art or crafting supply areas you’re looking for something specific in, (someone enough who is able to do that would be at Home Depot, or instructing a class somewhere) so it is best to come in with a good idea of what you will need, and not expect them to guide your entire project for you. If you’re a total newbie, buy one of the starter kits they do sell for almost every...
Read moreI will never shop at this Michaels location ever again!!! I went in to purchase 2 mini Christmas tress that were suppose to be on sale, when the checker rang them up the rang up $20.00 dollars more than advertised. The sales associate called out to the manager on duty but he did not respond so she picked up her call phone and paged him. When he didn't return her page she paged him one more time. A few minutes later he came racing to the front of the store carrying a box and as he walked past the checker he shouted at her that "he was busy and he can't just drop everything and come running just because she paged him". After that he walked out of the front door of the store to load something in a customers car. He was so rude, loud and inappropriate with her that my son asked me why that man was shouting at us. I was in such shock that I could barely speak but once I realized what happened I left my trees in the cart and told the checker that I would rather be tree less than buy trees form that man. Customer service is paramount when running a store, that also includes how management behaves towards their employees, especially in front of customers! ...
Read moreBuy merchandise often from this store, but this purchase was ridiculous. Purchased online 3 white Gildan shirts to be picked up. Had someone else pick the shirts up, and when they brought them home 1 clearly didn’t match the other 2. All had stickers on them, but one was about an inch shorter in length and width, wrinkled, color off, and CLEARLY had been washed. I would give a pass to an associate who just grabbed one shirt, but this associate grabbed 3 shirts. It was/is clear as day that one of these shirts is not in new condition. Associates need to pay attention and actually care about what they are doing instead of just mindlessly fulfill an order. Common sense would have looked at the shirt that doesn’t belong and 1) not included it in the order and 2) NOT put it back on the shelf as it’s not new! Attached - bottom 2 shirts smooth, brand new. Top shirt, wrinkly, but not just wrinkled…that’s been washed...
