We had an appointment scheduled/confirmed weeks in advance for 9:30am. I received a text at 4:10p the day before stating to be there at Noon. They changed our time in a text! I called and spoke w the office manager. I reminded her we had a 9:30a appt. I went on to say that we couldn't rearrange our day and if noon was the new time, we would have to reschedule. She said they would honor the promised time. They took back my sister-in-law at 9:25a, told me 90 mins or so & I left to run errands. I came to pick her up & sat in the car. After 30 mins, I went inside to find out she had been waiting the entire 2 hours! She has not even been prepped! Meanwhile, she had grown impatient. One of the nurses in the back told her I had been told her appt had been moved to 1P! She saw her doctor & threatened to leave. He told the nurse to prep her & move her UP to next. She didn't get brought outside until 1:20p. This facility is a surgery center focused on injection's & RFAs, so I get it that things happen. This is completely different. I told them they should just have everyone show up at once like a cattle call. The manager showed ZERO compassion for a person already suffering by making her wait over 4 hours. The facility shows indifference to the patients health and assumes no one has plans for the rest of the day. I missed meetings and was 2 hours late to work! The manager is a horrible time management scheduler or could care less. When I confronted her over the phone with this, she jumped from 1 excuse booth to the next. They NEVER apologized to my sister-in-law! They know she didnt eat or drink after midnight and kept her waiting for 13 hours! Its barbaric and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis place is amazing- the staff, cleanliness, efficiency at check-in. The facility deserves a five star rating in all areas except one: TRANSPORTATION POLICY. Unfortunately, Park Ambulatory Surgery Center is making it nearly impossible for patients (who depend on others to provide transportation to and from the facility) in order to keep their appointments. They once provided a transportation service which is no longer available. On the day of my appointment, I was unaware of the current policy with regard to patient transportation. Based on my particular experience this is (part) of the policy: No UBER or Lyft Your ride must stay in the waiting room. (To our surprise and consternation my ride was called and told to come back to the facility and wait (hours) or they would cancel my procedure.) We learned it is also unacceptable for the person providing the ride to wait in the car just outside the door. Everyone I know who can drive also has a family, a job, some two jobs. They canāt take time off work to wait in a room for multiple hours, potentially with sick people. If their child is sick, the child canāt wait for hours in a waiting room. The child may become more sick or pass the virus to others in the confined space.
Based upon the very difficult transportation policy at Park Ambulatory Surgery Center, I may have to rethink the choice of facilities for my outpatient procedures which will inevitably impact my choice...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI had a really great experience here. I went in for a steroid shot for my back, it was my first time ever having something like that done. I was very nervous. Right off the bat, I noticed the friendliness of the nurses. They were buzzing around like bees in a hive, making sure everyone was tended to and comfortable. No one was standing idle. Several of the nurses smiled at me when they would go by, it made me feel much more comfortable. I didn't have to wait as long as I was expecting. A kind nurse in a green Christmas cap (which she had made herself, kudos) named Sarah, I think, took me back and got me ready. She made me feel like she really cared, she wasn't in a hurry to rush onto the next patient, and she made me laugh a lot. She took the time to tell me about her animals and her family. She's the best nurse I've ever had. My recovery has been perfect because I was given very clear instructions after my procedure. Thank you very much to the...
