We arrived right after it opened @8:30AM. Took a # for title/tags & wrote the name & phone # on the clipboard for drivers license. Title/tags were done by 9AM with a fairly new employee and was a great experience. License was moving very slowly. Man up front was moving through the license list but we only heard the other person behind a cubicle wall in the back corner say 2 names the entire time we were there. After waiting 2 hours for licensing we noticed the man up front was calling people who got there after us. I asked the man up front if they had called our name bc we've been here longer than the people getting called up. He looked at the lists and we were the 7th name on the FIRST PAGE and the other license person marked it off as done. (Licensing was already done with a 2nd page at this point.) He apologized and helped us right away. I spoke aloud to the other license person(wearing a ponytail & facemask) asking them to "speak louder when calling people's names please" but they didn't even seem to care. Why isn't there a take-a-# system for licensing like the title/tag part that has a clearly displayed "now serving #__" sign? Very frustrating experience. The person in the back needs to be moved to the front if they aren't willing to speak up when calling names on their paper list system. We would have caught on sooner if the license desks weren't so far apart & there wasn't a cubical wall in front of the one in...
Read moreI would rather PUNCH myself in thw face Drivers License Office in Platte City, MO was a mess of unorganized processes, lack of cross training, under staffed and government workers who have come to terms delivering bad news and ultimatums. Before i walked in I saw the bewildered looks on the faces of people walking out, walking in the process was confusing and out of date. For driver's licenses the citizens had to sign a check in list that had not mark anyone off for hours. Since the workers didnt and wouldnt make eye contact with people, it seemed like 1 person would take over as the leader of all of us waiting. This is not my first time registering cars or renewing a license in missouri and the DMVs in Platte County and its always a mess, nothing communicated to the patrons, no updates, just a big mess. ALSO, no public trash bins in the lobby, and staff had no problem taking breaks or leaving in middle of a long line of waiting missouri tax payers/citizens adding to all of our frustration. While sitting for HOURS i noticed that only 1 person worked the drivers license renewals window and the rest just sat there. The workers at all drivers license offices should be able to do all the necessary functions to run more efficiently. I really think missouri needs to fix this poor service, poorly run, no organization, out dated processes, and no compassion from staff, this needs...
Read moreWe waited 2 hours to get my husband's driver's license renewed unsuccessfully. For Driver's license renewal we had to sign our name and telephone number on a clipboard and wait our turn. My husband does not have a traditional name. About a hour before closing we heard one of workers ask some older gentleman if his number was my husband's phone number. I assume she was trying to reconcile the list. She asked if he needed to get his driver's license renewed and he said "no". She told him she was going to mark through the (my husband's name) name. I spoke up and said that was my husband's number and he needed his license renewed. She did not attempt to call my husband's name like she did everyone else on the list. She got very curt with me and told me to sit down. My husband told her that was his number. She told him to be patient. We had waited well over an hour at this point. We had been and were being patient. She was very unprofessional. I worked in social services and was a supervisor for almost thirty years. This woman needs some customer service training. I would have never treated a customer the way we...
