Walgreens — Local services in Platte City

Drive-thru for pharmacy has been broken for many many months. They always say there is an order for it to be fixed but the last time, they said it has to be rebuilt AND they don't know when that will be! (People with compromised immune systems are having to expose themselves to illnesses unnecessarily. People with injuries are having to get out of their vehicles & go inside!) Their automated system is awful! Received a call today to see if I wanted 2 prescriptions refilled... it said press one for yes, two for no, for the first prescription....I pressed two after it told me the 1st prescription & the automated system hung without asking about or telling me what the 2nd prescription was. Also, at the end of May, I received an automated call on Thursday that the prescriptions are ready for pick-up. We made a special trip on Friday (we are rural, it's not around the corner) only to find that the pharmacy was CLOSED! Not cool Walgreens! I would still have recommended Walgreens, even with the continually broken drive-thru but when their automated system calls to tell you your prescriptions are ready, gives you their hours & lunch break time and you drive special to pick them up & find they are closed- that...

The Platte City Walgreens has some of the nicest people that work there, they remember me and always ask how i am doing and how my dog "Rookie" is doing. The store is clean and bright. Great group of people that work there, keep it up. ....well 2 years later they didnt "keep it up" .... I dont know if its new management or new staff or corporate creating a cold / unwelcoming work and customer experience. It is no longer pet friendly, prices are up, and lately I never see more than 2 or 3 cars in the parking lots, couldn't find help for 15 + minutes booking for a item...i hate saying this but cvs is close by and a better choice. Updating my review since Google won't let someone leave more than 1 review per location. They no longer deserve 5 stars...sorry, not sure what happened to make it go south in a short time....hopefully things improve or I dont see it lasting in Platte City too...

Giving 2 stars. Definitely the most unprofessional Walgreens I've ever been to. Went in about an hour or 2 ago to get some emergency shampoo and conditioner. When I walked in we were greeted with "welcome to" and then giggles about who was going to finish the sentence. Then nobody did. So now it's nice and awkward and all the EMPLOYEES (2 women and a man) start playing ball in the store. I found what I needed and waited patiently for the ball game to end so I could get the h* out and shower. It was late. When I put my stuff up at the register the lady didn't even ring it up. Just stared at me. Didn't say anything. After some time went by I awkwardly pushed my items close to her. This establishment could definitely use some actual employees.
