This place was absolutely horrible. I am in this area for business. My hotel was booked through a third party that we used to book our business trips. I checked in on November 13th in the wee hours of the morning. I was supposed to stay for 6 nights. On November 13th @ 12 noon I left to go to work at Fort Leavenworth. I returned from work that evening just to find that my door was deadbolt locked. I went to the front counter to speak with the young lady about my key not working she informed me that the manager put the deadbolt on because he had questions about my stay and that he had questions about the credit card used. She then tried to hand me the remote for the lobby television and said have a seat my manager will be back in about 20 to 30 minutes he went to the airport to pick up more guest, now mind you I've worked all day I am ready to retire to my room for the evening I have my dinner that I brought back so that I can enjoy it in my room but I'm not able to access the room I am forced to sit in the lobby until the manager arrives. When the manager does arrive I explained to him that my room was booked through third-party & I'm here on business. I don't have access to the credit card used & I can call someone if he needs me to, at which point the manager put his finger in my face and told me that they are not a storage unit he doesn't know what company I would work for that would be having me get off that late in the evening but nevertheless I was not going to be staying at his hotel. He informed me that he was evicting me and because checkout was 11 and I left the hotel and left my stuff there as if they were a storage and that was unacceptable. Again I tried to explain to the manager that my stay is for 6 days I have confirmation that the third party booking company charged our company card for 6 days again the manager said that I was not welcome there & that I was trespassing and that he was going to escort me to the room where my belongings were. He was very upset that he was unable to rent his room out for an entire day because I decided to leave my belongings there. So I was put out of the Ramada at 11pm at night in 16 degree temperature. Totally unacceptable. While I was sitting in my car trying to process everything that had taken place, trying to contact my district manager, my regional manager anyone that could assist me at this point a lady came up to my car tapped on my window and she said to me "I am so sorry that this is happening to you if I would have known that he was going to put you out of your room so that my mother and I could have a room we would have gone to another hotel" see the problem was because I checked in the wee hours of the morning I was given a handicap room on the first floor the young lady who came to my window her mother needed a handicap room she said they had been at the hotel off and on trying to get a room and they were told that they had a room they just had to figure out what to do with the belongings in the room, apparently they were going to get full price for that room where as my company had gotten that same room at a discounted rate. At the end of the day Ramada did not care about my safety my well-being or the way that they treated me as a guest. I do not recommend this hotel to anyone and I will continue to take this matter to a corporate level so that the Ramada Corporation will know how they are being represented. I did find somewhere safe to stay so if you're ever in the Fort Leavenworth area you should check out Home2 Suites by Hilton it is an amazing Hotel with amazing staff. They're located in downtown Fort Leavenworth and it's really worth the drive and the money. They are really a top-notch Hotel they took me in in the wee hours of the night no questions asked and I will continue...
Read moreMy wife and I reserved a room for the weekend after reading numerous disparaging remarks about another hotel that had been recommended to us by relatives in Platt City. Unfortunately, we found that the Platt City Ramada Inn also had “issues” which call into question the “quality” of Ramada Inn facilities around the USA. At check-in the clerk informed us that he was putting a $50.00 charge on our credit card . . . and that it was a security deposit which would be returned after we checked out . . . if nothing was missing or broken in our room.
Upon entering our dark room we found that the wall switch at the door was not connected to any light in the room . . . we went into a dark room and groped for a table lamp with a switch to light the room.
There appeard to be mold under one side (table?) adjacent to the king-sized bed as well as on the adjacent wall.
The bathroom (hollow-core) door had delaminated . . . the lamination on both sides of the door was no longer attached to the wood edge of the door. The finish on the door was also peeling off the wood.
The fabric on the single overstuffed chair in the room was torn, threadbare, and dirty.
The standing floor lamp had a switch that apparently did not work. The lightbulb had been unscrewed to turn the light off. My wife screwed the lightbulb in to turn the light on. She subsequently tested the on-off switch and found that it was not working.
There was no closet or area in which to hang up clothes on hangers. . . there were no extra hangers upon which we could hang up good clothes from our suitcases. There were only five “pegs” on the wall on which one could perhaps hang a few garments.
The hallway carpets were thoroughly spotted and stained and appeared to have not been shampooed in many months (perhaps years?) The free morning breakfast consisted of extremely thin, cold, gravy; cold undercooked link sausages; only one of four juices in the drink machine had anything but water;
I served as a USAF officer and US Government employee for more than 30 years, with more than 17 years of “overseas” service. During that time, I frequently stayed in civilian hotels around the world in Europe, Asia, and the Middle East (including such countries as Turkey, Egypt, Israel, Finland, Russia, South Korea, Thailand, and Australia.) My expectation of hotel/motel facilities was formed by decades of staying in average accommodations around the world.
The Ramada Inn van appeared to be permanently parked in one of the four handicap parking spots near the front door. In our family, This frequently denied handicap persons, such as two persons in our family, a handicap...
Read moreWe have stayed at this hotel 3 or 4 times and never had an issue. My wife was flying to Chicago for a doctor's appointment so we decided to stay here again for her early flight. I made the reservation online. When we tried to check in on August 16, 2021 the desk clerk, Sierra told us they did not have a ground floor king room as we had requested. I told her a double queen on the ground floor would be fine, but she could not figure out how to change us to one of those rooms. I paid for the room and when she asked me to sign the receipt, I was charged more for the room than I had booked it for. Sierra called the Manager, Shelly to the front and asked for my confirmation paperwork and she would charge us the price on the confirmation. I went to our email to get the confirmation notice, and I did not have one. Apparently their system messed up and did not send me a confirmation.
When I told the manager, Shelly I did not have a confirmation, she said, "You don't need to have an attitude". I was floored! Sierra then told me there was nothing she could do for me. I called Wyndam and they told me the rate charged was the best rate they could give me.
I asked if I could use their computer in the lobby to see if I could find the confirmation, Shelly told me, "I guess so". I could not get that computer to work. When I went back to the desk, Shelly told me, "we have the right to refuse service to anyone, so I am refunding your money". She went on to say she did not know what the big deal was, they have an elevator to the second floor and all of this over a few dollars. I told her it wasn't about the money, it was the principal of it and how she was talking to and treating us. As we walked out, Shelly said in a very rude tone of voice, "have a good night". I could not believe how we were treated as return customers. And they put a hold on your credit card.
We went to a different hotel and while checking in, another lady came into the lobby crying. She was at this hotel while we were checking as well. She told me she was to check into the hotel and her husband would join her late that night. She told me she waited for about an hour, then asked for a refund because she heard how we were treated and they would not give her the keys to the room until her husband arrived. The lady told me the hotel did not want to refund their money.
I later found the rude Manager was the owners wife. In conclusion, unless new owners take over, I absolutely DO NOT...
