China Wok — Restaurant in Platte City

We have been ordering from here for 10+ years, sad to say that the experience has gone downhill. We were excited they had reopened after a temporary closure, only to discover that they had removed moo shu dishes from the menu. We went with our other favorite dishes- hot and sour soup and general Tso chicken. The hot and sour soup was still pretty good, although it no longer has the same amount of solid ingredients in it. I think in half a large order I had maybe 2-3 small pieces of meat and about 2 pieces of mushroom.

However, the chicken dish was very disappointing. We picked up the order right when I was told it would be ready- 15 minutes. We live 5 minutes from the restaurant and I transported the food on an insulated bag. Dished it up right away and the chicken and the broccoli were actually cold in places. My wife heated it up on the stove but then it’s not the same, and I shouldn’t have to reheat food I just picked up.

Better than I thought it was going to be. I was a little worried about Chinese food in the Midwest, but this place was better than I expected. They only take phone orders, even if you are there in person (Covid downer). I ordered orange chicken, Chicken and vegetables, and beef Lo Mein (soft noodles). Everything was very good and made to order, which I like. The Beef Lo Mein is probably the best I've had, plenty of beef and flavor. I absolutely loved it. My dad had brought it home a few times from Platte City however that is a very far drive. I decided to go out and have lunch with my dad there today. I ate the Dragon plate and it was delicious. The chicken was tender and the batter was crispy. I absolutely loved it, it was perfect. I've never had it quite like this.
