I brought my 2015 Ram 1500 EcoDiesel (VIN ending in 6016) to this dealership for a glow plug replacement â a routine service. What I got instead was a series of shifting explanations, altered notes, and an outrageous $4,700 estimate for a new cylinder head.
Hereâs what happened: ⢠At first, I was told my truck needed new cylinders and heads. Then the story changed to âthe heads will probably need to be replacedâ because they âmightâ get damaged during glow plug extraction. Thatâs not a diagnosis â thatâs guessing and upselling. Glow plug extraction can be difficult, but it does not automatically require new heads or cylinders. ⢠The diagnostic scan performed showed only: ⢠P245B â EGR Cooler Bypass Bank 1 Control Circuit Range/Performance ⢠P06BD / P0675 â Cylinder 5 Glow Plug Circuit Range/Performance / Circuit Open Nothing in that report indicated cylinder or head damage. If my engine truly had a bad cylinder or destroyed head, there would have been misfire codes, compression loss, smoke, poor mileage, or drivability issues. ⢠In fact, just before bringing it in, I drove this truck from Kansas City â Murfreesboro, TN â Houston, TX â Tulsa, OK â back to Kansas City in three days, averaging 28 mpg. That trip would have been flat-out impossible with cylinder or head damage.
When I pressed for answers, I sent an email demanding: Specific evidence of cylinder/head damage. Photographs or documentation of the alleged problem. An itemized invoice breaking down how they arrived at $4,700.
They refused to provide any of it. Instead, the Service Director even changed the service notes to try and release the shop from all liability. That is a blatant attempt to sidestep garage keeper liability â the legal responsibility a shop has for damage caused while a vehicle is in their care.
Fortunately, I record all interactions (legal in Missouri as a single-party consent state), so I have a complete record of what was said and when.
Because of this, I will be taking my truck to a trusted independent diesel mechanic who actually knows how to handle glow plug extractions. If I discover that damage was done to my engine while it was in this shopâs care, I will be contacting an attorney to ensure I am made whole.
This service department has shown zero accountability, zero transparency, and zero professionalism. Customers deserve honesty and documentation, not shifting stories, altered records, and inflated...
Read moreFirst and foremost Iâm not certain but Iâm pretty positive they are running a Ponzi scheme. I purchased a 2021 jeep wrangler from this location. Have nothing bad to say about my sales rep. But as for this dealership as a whole and especially the service department I am very livid at the lack of communication, urgency, accountability and professionalism that I encountered when dealing with them. The service department doesnât even call you to update you on the status or LACK THERE OF regarding your vehicle. I bought this February 12th and only got it drive it for a week. It has since then been SITTING at the dealership with blown head gaskets for the last 3 weeks and on goingâŚ.they gave me some excuse every week as to why it hasnât been worked on. The excuse is as followed âwe just got the parts inâ EVERY WEEK they got more parts for this alleged issue. So im not sure whatâs really broken. Not to mention it underwent an inspection process prior to purchasing the vehicle that clearly was over looked. I made the monthly payment on it and I havenât even been able to drive it for the entire month that I just wasted in a shitty rental vehicle that they pity gave me for this issue. They wonât reimburse me for the monthly payment because they âgave me a rental vehicle and because I purchased a used vehicleâ . I wouldnât even need the rental vehicle if they inspected my vehicle correctly the first time and if I didnât need to commute DAILY to work to pay for said BROKEN jeep. Onto the next week of lies. I was told i would get it back last week 3/14. Friday rolls around and yet again no phone call about the progress. Shockingly I call myself as I did every other time and was hit with â there ended up being an issue with the turbo so we ordered a new one. Not sure of the tracking but it will be Monday.â I finally get my first phone call I didnât have to make myself to the dealership but BAD NEWS the turbo was dropped and now have to order another part YET AGAIN. Everyone I talk to think Iâm joking or being pranked. But no unfortunately this is what really happened to me. I will never be returning nor will I ever tell anyone to come here for vehicles unless they plan to spend lots of money just to waste driving around in a rental. I have better odds at winning the lottery than receiving a phone call back. I would highly recommend staying clear of this trash...
Read moreIâm sharing this because my bf doesnât want to, my bf got his car a little more than a year ago and weâve had little problems with the car. That is okay, all of the problems have stemmed from basic maintenance it. However this most recent problem and the way they dealt with it was off putting.
The most recent issue is that his car started to misfire, so he took it up to the dealership because he also bought a warranty that covers engine issues. When he had gone to give his keys for the appointment they asked if he had his warranty paper which he didnât. They then proceeded to tell him that if he didnât have it then he would have to pay out of pocket despite paying into this warranty for a little over a year. As well as the obvious, being that they should have that kind of information in their computer system. He was shocked and he later called into their service center to get things set straight and within 2 minutes they pulled up his warranty.
Finally, he was called about his cars condition and it turns out it was just spark plugs. They wanted 600 some dollars to replace the spark plugs, my bf turned them down and said heâd do it himself. We go up there to get his car and they slapped on a 170 dollar labor fee for the labor of cleaning up the spark plugs. This is something he did not give them permission to do, he argued over the fee, saying what I said above. They finally took the bill down to 100 dollars. It was mainly the fact that they did almost 200 dollars worth of labor without being given the go ahead and were trying to make him pay it. Which he still ended up having to pay, though as a discounted price.
My bf loves his car, other than basic maintenance it truly has been a good car. But most recent experience with them was not a very positive one. We have had other small problems such a rim leak within the first month of having the car, it was written off as the cold weather effecting the tires. Though after taking it back in for the second time they did look further into it.
I am putting a 3 star because we truly enjoy the car, itâs just been the way things have been dealt with. Which plays into...
