These folks are true artisans of their craft! Their distilling technique is very precise and dialed in. What they extract out of the products (to throw out-and later use to degrease their auto engines with-methanol for example) is NOT therefore IN your drink. It’s in cheaper distilled products I assure you. This results in the smoothest whiskies, vodkas and Eau de vie’s etc I have ever tasted. Oh and what I love the most about these folks is their liqueurs that dont quite match the guide-books for a “class” say, a Rum. Instead they use a rum base, but use a gin diffuser to infuse vanilla beans, apple and whatever-the-hell else they want to put in and set the alcohol level to a spot that tastes best - shattering the guidelines with a sledgehammer- and making something that IS truly unique and super smooth, their Lorenz. So invent your own drink recipes! I blend it with wine and make my own delicious “ports” because that would also be “illegal”, besides the fact Im Not in Portugal. Their whiskey are amazing. Did a tasting for $10, 5 pours. Got to tried almost all of their whiskey. All of them are very distinctly different. Some very easy, some very complex. Their rene is very complex, spicy forward but finish with a sweet taste. Their gin is very florally forward with an aftertaste of orange peel. Their Wednesday is a "regular" whisky, very straightforward. Their 5-year whiskey is spicy with a little smokey and sweeteness at the end. The after taste/aroma is amazing. The cinnamon whiskey, I don't even like cinnamon, was amazing. I ended up getting 2 bottle. Unlike other cinnamon whiskey, there is not artificial sweeteneas to this whiskey. AMAZING! I was introduced to Clearwater's ScandaLust and became obsessed with the quality and taste. I was telling everyone about it and FINALLY made it in for a tasting! A fabulous date night and time with friends, and let me tell you these guys love working there as much as we enjoyed being there! Dan was a fabulous taste host and we had a blast! The whole staff was wonderful and we could have spent all evening there! We will be back just for the atmosphere as well as the beautifully curated spirits - you will be surprised and in awe with the beautiful flavor combinations from simple pure ingredients. A complete asset to the state in proving to the rest of the world that Utah is ready to play with the big boys.
