If you don't want all the details the short summary is that this was a great purchase and is definitely worth the price. If you want more details continue reading. Before purchasing I had never ridden a longboard before. However, I have a ton of friends who are into longboarding but they have the traditional wooden boards. When I was trying to look for boards I looked at the traditional wooden boards and noticed they had a ton of bad reviews and that many people had unsafe experiences. I was originally going to get a cheaper wooden board to see if I even liked longboarding but after looking through reviews and seeing as my friends' wooden boards have started to crack and break after a few months of riding them made me conclude that I'd spend more money buying a cheaper wooden board, having it break, then paying for a better quality board on top of that. After doing some research I came across Ghost longboards, read through their reviews, and looked through their social media. I immediately fell in love with their designs and felt like they had good quality boards. I was a little hesitant at first because it was pricey, I didnât know if I'd like longboarding, and I haven't ever seen boards like this so I had a lot of questions. I didn't want to waste my money. After reading through their posts on Instagram and seeing others talk about these boards I was ultimately convinced and gave in and got one for myself and I loved It! I loved the design and quality. It is sturdy while also being flexible enough for riding and turning. I also had concerns about the grip because these boards donât have grip tape but it was NOT a problem in the slightest. The order was finished within two to three days. I had a very pleasant experience with the owners who are extremely helpful and friendly. They are also pretty active on Instagram and I got a ton of information there by reading the descriptions, seeing other people's experiences, and reading through the comments. I highly recommended looking through to see their posts if you want to know more. You can also reach out to them, they are very willing to help, answer questions, and provide the time and information you need. Longboarding was extremely easy to pick up on their boards and it is so much fun. These boards are truly amazing and I do not regret my purchase. My cousin also rode my board and discovered that she loved it as well and is now getting one too. I would recommend this board to anyone looking into longboarding; it is worth the price plus the boards are extremely aesthetically pleasing. After learning I also rode a friend's wooden board to see the difference between the boards and I can tell you that I preferred my board quality wise and looks-wise. A little about the board I got: I got a 40â wheel cut with shark wheels. This is a standard length that I feel is perfect. I personally got the wheel cut because I thought it looked better with the design I wanted. The shape did not make riding harder in my opinion. I also got the shark wheels because it helps give a smoother ride for locations with a ton of pebbles and cracks. I totally recommend the shark wheels. I didnât think Iâd get them at first but after looking into them I decided that they would fit better for my area of living. They truly do make the ride a lot smoother and make me feel a lot safer on my board. One time I was riding and ran into a clear marble but instead of coming to a complete halt and flying off my board the wheel went right over the marble and kept riding perfectly. This personally impressed me. I love my board. The only other thing Iâd recommend is for if you are a rough rider get the protection pieces for the ends of the board so you donât chip it. They donât chip too easily but it is possible. Mine has a tiny chip from riding which was totally my fault. But if you feel like you'd chip it easily just add the protection pieces and youâre all good. I would say If you are looking into these...
Read moreThe boards look great and by all accounts a superb product, but the customer service is very questionable.
I contacted Ghost Long Boards at the start of July, with a request if their could build my daughter a board in time for shipping to the UK for the 8th August, I had an emails yes and what would she like. I sent over the specs, asked for a price so I could pay for the board. I hadn't heard from them for 4 days so I emailed them (and text the number) again asking if they'd received my email, a 1 word reply, 'Yes'. 2 weeks rolled by, I sent another email saying if it was too much with the current world challenges just let me know it's no problem, then after texting the mobile on their site I get an email saying that the chap was out of town for 2 weeks hence why no reply and asking for my order number?!? I replied saying I was awaiting the quote and to transfer the money, no reply for 5 days and then when I got one, 'If you've not ordered it, its unlikely to come in time'... I responded saying thanks (why it took 3.5 weeks to conclude that and not be honest at the start I don't know why), but even though it missed her birthday window I asked how long and what the price would be so I could still order it, that was 2 weeks ago and no reply.
To the owners, I appreciate the world is upside down, your bombarded with messages, but it could have been avoided by just saying at the start it's unlikely we can make your order and it will be X months before we can. Instead I was left hanging around onto the promise it was possible and then told not which I was cool with but you can't even be bothered to respond to my request of how long.
EDIT - whilst I appreciate a response from the owner below, I have to add that sadly the snippet of emails below only represents his initial response and all corresponding emails trying to get this order done by myself were not responded too (I understand everyone was busy). Everyone has a right to respond, but not mislead by presenting part...
Read moreI really wanted to love them. All the great reviews! What a sham. â ď¸ But, Iâd now recommended you find another company. Russ, the owner I believe, is dishonest you will never see your custom order product. Mine was an ocean resin design, the one painted by grace bell art. I ordered the longboard a month from this review.
The time I reached out, Russ said he was waiting for the artist to send them back. (He takes forever to reply and his communication is sparse, short, and incomplete. ) costumer services sucks.
I reached out to the artist directly and found out that they hadn't received any new blank boards to paint- they only had the original 3 they painted as a trial- or return labels from Russ to send to me. They didnât appreciate their business being represented that way by Russ, as in blaming them for the negligence/delay. The artist offered to send me one of the original boards she painted, however, it wouldnât have trucks or wheels. I donât think the artist is lying as theyâve been responsive and showed me the communications between them and Russ. I donât mind the time it takes for a custom project to be made, I get itâs a lot more than just send a mass produced product. Thatâs fine. Even though, the website claimed ten days.. only if youâre Instagram famous will you actually get the ocean resin board it seems, obviously.
What I do mind is the lack of communication, transparency, and how he blamed his negligence on someone else-the artist.
They never did anything to resolve or ameliorate the situation. Iâm fact, I have yet to receive a...
