I have been coming to this Target since it opened in 1996 but my last visit was offensive, borderline discriminatory, and fully unacceptable. Long story very short, my wife ordered two cables for $30 for pick up in the parking lot. We arrived, had one young lady come up to us and take our name after 5 minutes, came back 10 minutes later and asked our name again and she said she thought our product was already outside but it was not and she had to go inside to find it. 10 more minutes pass and I flag down her co-worker because she vanished. Co-worker says there is an issue finding the product and apologizes for being so disorganized. Co-worker goes back inside to check, comes back out and says well we can give you a refund because we cannot find it. We did not want that, we needed the cable. She goes inside, comes out 5 minutes later with a refund and a $10 gift card for our troubles and adds 'well I was told you have been given the product already and if you have the product now that is OK, here is your refund anyways.' To which we answered, 'WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT?!' We exchanged words for a minute or so with this employee while she insisted that we had been given the product already. I asked her straight up 'Are you accusing us of stealing? Are you calling us liars?', to which she had no words.
So in summary: we paid for our product in advance. They took 25 minutes to NOT give us our product. We were accused multiple times of stealing without even leaving our car. There are 100 cameras looking at the spot we were at to prove our point. And to think someone would be given their product and just sit in the spot and demand another, who does that? Why would I need two ethernet cables and two USB conversions? Why would we steal $30 of products when we do well for ourselves? And nobody in a leadership role ever came out to chat with us, I had to go inside to complain...
Read moreTarget is the new Wal-Mart but with a better image. Target provides competitive prices and an excellent presentation. The appearance of the store is what makes Target a pleasant experience and Wal-Mart a chore. The simple fact that Target is commonly referred to as Tarjay (to make it sound fancier) drives my point home. Target’s attention to its image pays dividend by adding value to its products, the added value is a complete fabrication of our brains, but it’s one that’s important to us (the customer, we like pretty) and the reason for returned visit.
While this Target store is a pleasant experience, it does have a torn in its heel –the parking. Target is located at the main entrance to the shopping center, all traffic coming and going is tunneled up to Target’s doors and then forced to turn right or left. This creates a choking point for car coming and going. The three-way stopping creates traffic just to enter the plaza; the speed bumps less than 10 feet away from the stop signs makes progress a slow torture; and the crisscrossing of pedestrian making their way to Target’s doors is just icing on the cake.
I understand that Target wants to be the first image shoppers see when entering the plaza. I understand the draw and power of the image. However, Target is not the first image shoppers see, the store is just a blurry background to car bumpers and people jumping in front of cars. The parking lot design is the store's biggest hurdle. I would suggest creating an entrance specific section and an exit specific section (not next to each other). This might sound silly, but if you want to increase the flow of people to the store, keep the entrance of the store clear (remove the car congestion in...
Read moreIn January 2020, an employee named Pablo M. who worked at Customer Service at this Target location had very bad attitude. I came with my mother to return an item, he spoke to her in a very condescending way that he could only exchange it, because she opened the box. But when I asked him if he could hold it for her at Customer Service while we find another one to exchange it, he gave my mom a snarky attitude that she has to carry that big box with her around the store while looking for a replacement to refund it. So my mom has to carry 2 big boxes around the store? I myself have returned items there before, and Customer Service has held on to my large items for me while I look for a replacement.
He treated my mom very poorly and was getting frustrated with her, because she did not speak english well. I felt the need to defend my mother from him talking down to her. He was very arrogant and rude, trying to be a smart mouth to me as well as talking over me, patronizing my mother and I. He seemed more preocupied trying to look "cool" infront of his coworkers and trying to "fit in" with them like as if he were at school, rather than be there to work and treat customers well.
He also sent me a message on October 30 2022 saying "I just want to say thank you for the Target review back in 2020 for my "bad attitude" it still makes me laugh til this day :) "
I think it's innapropriate for employees to send messages to customers reviewing their performance at work. Especially when it has been almost 3 years since I first left...
