I specifically drove to this location early on May 28th so I could look at a small kitchen appliance in person before I purchased it. After searching the aisles for 10 minutes, I approached Kohl's employee who was on the floor for assistance. Rather than accompanying me to the Kitchen Department to help me look, she promptly referred me to the Customer Service Desk saying "she can look it up for you." The customer service employee quickly dismissed me when I asked if she could see if the item was in stock by saying, "If you don't see it, it's not there" and then quickly added, "What is it?" When I told her what it was, she said she'd seen them in the past but directed me to the Kiosk to look it up myself or order it on-line.
I decided to go back to the Kitchen Dept. and look again one more time but was so flabbergasted by how quickly I was dismissed that I put back a pair of shoes that I was going to purchase as well and left the store.
Because of the lack of customer service in a non-busy time, the store missed out on the opportunity to sell over $110 worth of merchandise.
I drove to the Target Store across the road instead and purchased the kitchen item for a higher price based on principle.
I am disappointed that neither employee saw fit to help me in a meaningful way. I was courteous and respectful throughout my interactions with both employees. Employee #1 was courteous to be but Employee #2 acted as if I was inconveniencing her.
I will no longer make a special trip of driving 40 minutes to a store that doesn't care about...
Read moreNote: Online only review! We placed an order at 2:46 pm and were told weâd receive an order confirmation email. After 3 hours, we still hadnât received the confirmation email, so I called the Rockford Plaza location. The woman that answered said to check back in an hour or so for the email and gave me their store hours.
Another day went by and still no email. So I called the store again. A different woman answered and said, yes, our order was received and the items were ready.
I drove to Kohlâs and parked at the 1st drive up pick up stall. The sign said to call the number in our confirmation email. Well, we never got said email, so I called the store, listened for the menu options. I selected #1 which is to notify the store that I arrived for an online order. I waited on hold for a couple minutes before hearing the same original phone greeting with the menu options. I selected option #1 again. Waited. Same thing. Selected #1 a third time. As I was about to hang up, a gentleman from the store approached my car and told me they didnât know I was here for an order. I gave him the confirmation number from a screen shot of the online order (as this was our only confirmation). He came back about a minute later with our order.
Never an apology.
I told him that he lost an online customer. This had happened a couple of other times with our online Kohlâs orders before. Iâm done...
Read moreThis store is always clean and tidy and well-stocked, however the push about Kohls cards at checkout really keep me from wanting to shop at any kohls these days. I have a card that I opened years ago but I try to avoid using credit cards as much as possible. Before I had a card, clerks were mildly pushy about opening one. Now that I have a card and prefer not to use it, they get pushy often about how much I could save if I used it even if I politely say no thank you. I used to work in retail, I know checkout personal is probably told its mandatory to try to get people to sign up and maybe there are incentives or something - but when someone says "no thank you" or "not today" I really think that needs to be the end of it. The last three times I've been in here and I've told the cashier I have one but I won't be using it today, its been like a whole conversation that I should use it for the savings. Its just uncomfortable honestly. It does keep me from coming...
