This is not a charity, it is a greedy corporation. I am homeless. Other than the clothes and shoes I am wearing, I have nothing. I was given a voucher for $30 for this store and had to wait a week to use it. My shoes are so worn out and falling apart, I can hardly walk. When I arrived at the store, a very rude woman told me I was not allowed anything with a white tag. 80% of the items in the store have white tags. The only pair of walking shoes I could find in my size were a pair of black Skechers with a white tag, priced at $14.99. I explained my situation and was told I could not get the shoes. The rude woman also told me that not using my voucher in full on this day would result in forfeiting the funds. I left the store and called the Salvation Army agency, the woman on the phone made it clear the rules are the rules and no exceptions would be made. I am homeless!!! These are donated items, it makes no sense. I left the store in tears and am still in tears. Donating to the Salvation Army is supporting a greedy and cruel corporation posing as a non profit. It is much better to take your clothing donations directly to homeless shelters or the free store. Donating directly to homeless shelters ensures your items go to someone who...
Read moreThe store was pretty organized, and you could maneuver through there easily but, the staff there are very rude! Two women were at the cash register just chitchatting when I walked in. No one even acknowledged me not a hello or anything. And then I was back in the clothing looking for something in particular so I asked one of the workers hanging stuff up where it was and she just pointed and said over there, well sorry I donât know where over there is ! So I said to her why I didnât see him over there and I started laughing and said just because I didnât see it doesnât mean itâs not there, and then she huff loudly and threw down what she had in her hand and pointed walked a couple isles over pointed and said there!, and then walked away, I informed the two women at the cash register about my experience and they both started laughing đ¤đĄ if this is the kind of customer service this facility upholds then no thank you. I will never be back...
Read moreWhat Iâve noticed with this particular Salvation Army (and with nearly every Salvation Army store in recent years) is that whoever is pricing items is pricing them according to eBay prices. eBay prices have not so much to do with the value of things as much as the DEMAND, because online you are reaching to a worldwide audience as opposed to a limited local one. Itâs crazy how shop owners donât even realize this! They just see a similar item on ebay (not even researching to see if it is counterfeit when it comes to higher priced items, like fake Jordans or fake Gucci), and slap on a matching price tag. So if youâre a working middle class citizen looking for a deal on a used pair of Sperryâs or a Vera Bradley, you might have some luck here. But if youâre struggling financially and are in need of new clothes and shoes, this place will burn through all your hard earned cash and youâll come out with very little. So much for...
