LONG REVIEW - WORTH THE READ Looking for a place that exceeds your expectations for the highest quality customer service, quality furniture and value? Look no further than Haverty's in Port Richey, Florida. My first contact with Dina MacDonald was over the phone. I had an immediate need for a sleeper sofa. Her exceptional service which included listening, researching and communicating her findings is exactly what I look for in a sales associate. I drove an hour and a half to meet this sales associate.
Not only did I buy the sleeper sofa, but I also purchased all the furnishings for my husband's study. I mentioned to her that I was wanting to furnish my husband's. She introduced me to Virginia Gordon, the Design Consultant and communicated to her what I was wanting to do with his study.
Perhaps the term, "dream team" is cliche, but it defines them. Virginia worked patiently with me as I did not have the measurements for the room as I was only there to see if the sofa fit my immediate need. I made several calls home due to the irregularly shaped room and finally got the information I needed. She could have rushed and used approximate dimensions, but she was detail-oriented and I could see her commitment to excellence. Dina gave constructive and creative feedback to Virginia's designs, which was well received as a positive contribution. It was impressive watching the interaction and teamwork.
I was given several options and explanations as to the aesthetics and functionality of the design. I settled on one, but Virginia printed all the options and made a folder for me to take home. The process took several hours and they both worked tirelessly. Virginia was cognizant of the amount of time and extended me the courtesy of a bottle of water. Such class and hospitality!
After I made my purchase and pleased with the entire process, including the price I paid. I decided I might want a rug to go with the furniture. I let Dina know and back we went to the drawing board! They helped me find a perfect rug that I could take home with me. Virginia had another teammate get it ready for me to take. As if they hadn't already exceeded my expectations. Dina then epitomized the "go the extra mile" level of service I had received all day, Dina carried the rug out to my truck on her shoulder! It was hot outside, she had worked all day! I am so impressed with this calibre of character and customer service.
Dina MacDonald made me feel that it wasn't about making a sale, but that my needs were met and that I was completely satisfied.
I also purchased a table and buffet that I had my eyes on! The service was that exceptional. All of my future Haverty purchases will be through Dina. I will gladly take the long ride and bypass several other stores along the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreOrdered furniture beginning of March over the phone. I was told all pieces were in stock except the nightstand that would be in mid April. When I went in to pay the deposit required to hold the furniture, I was told the items were in stock and that the nightstand I ordered was even available. I paid the deposit and told them that I wasnāt exactly sure when Iād need the furniture delivered but it would be a few weeks. They put me down for the first week of April and said we could make changes to that if needed. I called today (4/2) to schedule delivery and was told that the bed and nightstand are now on back order and wonāt be in until at least May 30th (which I know means more than likely much later given customs, freight, etc).
I donāt understand how a furniture company can take your money and then sell the product that you purchased to someone else. This is their business practice. What is the point of a deposit if they donāt hold the item?! The salesperson said that she sent an e-mail (wouldnāt you think a phone call for an 8+ week delay would be best?) explaining the changes to an e-mail address that we use daily for business⦠no e-mail was ever received. I asked that a manager call me right away (and that he āmost likely wonāt be able to give you a delivery date youāll be happy withā. She stated that he is off this weekend and wouldnāt be able to contact me until Monday.
I purchased furniture that was in the store when I purchased. I purchased weeks in advance to avoid this exact issue since itās been difficult to find things in stock since 2020. Itās not that Iām ānot happyā with their delivery date. Iām unhappy that they took my money to hold my items, then sold the product I purchased to someone else who came in after me - in order to make another sale. Buyer beware! Unless youāre able to leave with the merchandise SAME DAY, I wouldnāt risk buying from them going forward....

Within 2 weeks we respectfully decided to exchange after our item was too firm. First trip back to store upgraded purchase āTold to wait the 30 daysāā¦. About Oct. 5th Second trip to store after the 5th⦠was told salesman Steve on vacation⦠wait until his return. Third trip to store a week later⦠Was told the Store manager Dina would look into what happened⦠now new Mattress on 3 week back order. She would call in a week. Forth trip⦠No calls⦠no communication⦠Nothing. We left 6 called messages to return calls⦠No return call. 5th trip to store⦠talked with original salesman Steve⦠told he would take care of this and call me same day⦠No Call. 6th trip⦠No Steve. But Dina. And the new boss Eric Ingram who swore to us he would contact us by today with a resolutionā¦.by Today Monday. 3:45 pmā¦No calls⦠no 7th trip today Eric in his office swears he would call me by end of day and tells Dina waiting on call from Sterns Foster. THIS STAFF IS RIDICULOUS!!!!! Ask yourself⦠would you purchase anything from these people who call themselves professional. HAVERTYS wasted countless hours of our time⦠lied multiple times⦠promised return calls⦠delivery dates⦠no follow up⦠this from a branch manager⦠Eric Ingram.
