We have had quite a few renovation projects done over the last several years, & the kitchen renovation done for us by Cabinets by Reeves in January 2024 was hands down the worst experience we have had out of all of them.
Our house is a vacation rental & we had a renter booked to check in on February 1st, so we asked them ahead of time if a 1 month timeframe would be ample time for them to get the whole job finished and they said it would be. We purchased our cabinets in September 2023 so they’d be ready to go on January 1st.
Just weeks before the work was set to begin, I was told by Brittany that both she & husband/co-owner, Jessie would be going out of state to a wedding from 1-3-24 to 1-8-24, right during our job. This was rather unsettling to us & we felt we should have been told as soon as they knew. It’s possible they knew when they took our job and chose to keep it from us.
Things continued to deteriorate. On 1-2-24, they let us know their installer had double pneumonia but that they contacted someone who was a 1099 contract employee of theirs who would be able to help out with our job. He showed up the next day with the owner Jessie and began installing our cabinets.
They installed our cabinets in 1 day. They were in such a hurry because they were now leaving a day or more late for the wedding. Brittany told me she always goes and inspects the work after the cabinets are installed. Not this time, she didn’t. Even though she didn’t go and make sure that everything was done properly, she let the countertop company know our cabinets were done and ready for templating and they left for their out of state wedding.
BIG PROBLEM!!! We realized our stove was not centered to the window above it, so our countertop template could not be done and our cabinet company owners were gone out of state to a wedding. Our whole project was at a complete standstill since they were gone!
We didn’t know what went wrong at first but eventually my husband measured the kitchen wall and compared his measurements with the Cabinets by Reeves measurements. The measurements were off! They had incorrectly measured the back wall of our kitchen and apparently didn’t realize it, so they ordered and installed the wrong size cabinet which made our stove off center to the window above it.
The worst thing about this whole experience is that the owners of Cabinets by Reeves never called us even one time to reassure us the situation would be fixed, to explain what happened, to take ownership of any wrongdoing, acknowledge they measured the room wrong or apologize. We texted them several times asking, pleading with them to please call us and help us understand what happened and what they would do to fix it so we could rest assured. But they ignored us and never returned our calls.
For the last 3 weeks of January, they avoided speaking with us at all costs, didn't respond to our calls or texts and instead chose to give information to our countertop fabricator who shared it with us. This is completely unacceptable & I strongly believe that when a company completely bungles a job as badly as they did, they should contact the customer and take ownership of their mistakes.
Eventually, they did order the correctly sized cabinet and install it for us after we reached out and were able to get the CEO of cabinet manufacturer, Bliss Cabinets, involved who expedited the shipment of the replacement cabinet and who also replaced a damaged wall cabinet for us.
The errors made by Cabinets by Reeves in measuring our kitchen, caused their portion of our renovation to take 3 weeks of the month of January to complete instead of the 1 week it should have taken. This left only 1 week for the countertop company to template and install our countertops and quartz full height backsplash and other workers (plumbing, etc.) to finish their work.
If you are contemplating doing business with Cabinets by Reeves, I would strongly urge you to reconsider & select a different...
Read moreMy parents recently paid this man thousands of dollars for special ordered cabinets specifically to fit their home. He came to their home and agreed to do the work and then sat down and had lunch with them professing he treats people the "Christian" way. He showed up and installed cabinets that were not what they ordered and basically they look like kitchen cabinets when it should have been a home entertainment setup. It has been months since they have heard from them. All my parents want is their money back or the cabinets that he agreed to install. He is a thief and not someone you want to do business with. When my father tried to tell him that the cabinets were not correct that he installed his response was basically that he was the cabinet guy and he knows what he is doing. He clearly doesn't and does cheap work and wrong work and takes people's money with a halfway job or wrong job completed. Apparently there are many others in the area that have gone through...
Read moreBrittany and Jesse are the best when it comes to cabinets. I had several companies that wouldn’t even call me back. I only did they reply promptly, they were super friendly and very flexible with our crazy bathroom remodel schedule. The cabinets are beautiful and Brittany personally came to see the finished product. Then I received a lovely handwritten thank you which is something I’ve never received from any business!I I appreciate their exceptional customer service and quality products. I will add pictures when our project...
