This "antique shop" has a LACKLUSTER INVENTORY AND AN UNBELIEVABLY RUDE STAFF. We had the EXTREME DISPLEASURE of coming in contact with who I can only assume is the owner (?) of this grossly overpriced thrift shop masquerading as an antique store. Any time anyone, adult or child, in the store touched anything she would shout and say "you break it you buy it, so unless you are prepared and can afford it don't touch it". We had been there for all of 10 minutes when she started in on everyone in the store. I was there with my grown children, and there was another family there with young children. At first I thought she was talking to the parents of the toddlers, but soon realized she was talking to my nearly 20 year old son, and everytime he walked near anything or showed interest in making a purchase she would yell at him not to touch anything. Rather than subjecting ourselves to further scrutiny we made our way to the door when my son said "can I touch the door or are you afraid I will break it, too?" The woman just snarled and rolled her eyes. We had done NOTHING to provoke such behavior from this woman. The kicker here is that there are few items there that would qualify as actual antiques. Rather the store is filled with secondhand Hobby Lobby home decor (often with the tag still on it) that they are more than happy to charge you triple their original price to purchase. This woman went out of her way, for no reason, to ruin our shopping experience. I can safely say that I will NEVER spend a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI want to be careful how I write this review so I do t come across rude. The store has a lot to look at. Some interesting things. Older antiques, some vintage, reproduction items. Everything is very neatly organized and displayed. Items are clean and well taken care of. You can tell the store owner takes pride in their store and thatās nice. However, some items that were marked antique and priced as antique were not and I know they were from the collection of the lady working in the store because she told me. Iām young, so maybe she thought I wouldnāt know. I know the difference between a vintage metal paper tray and Something you can pick up at a current discount big box store. She had one of each and both were priced as $24.95. Also, please donāt try to sell me a small metal bucket that has vintage paper decoupaged on it for $49.95. My grandmother used to make these herself and I have a collection and that price is just sad. I sure hate to think about people paying overprices because maybe they just donāt shop antique and vintage often. Not everything was overpriced, but there was enough in the store that was that made me feel less eager to purchase or return when we come back...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreVisiting PSJ during Thanksgiving from out of State, we ventured from Cape San Blas for the day to explore ⦠this shop was by far our favorite stop! Owners greeted us immediately upon entering and remained readily available for any inquiries. If you have a passion for nautical antiques, memorabilia and or decor - this is your goldmine! I wanted so badly to purchase the item displayed near the window, itās a huge functioning ship light, but unfortunately the item far exceeded my available funds. I still think of this piece and hope that whoever buys it shows it off proudly! Donāt miss out visiting this shop if youāre...
