Delightful Ice Cream Shop in Port St. Joe. We get ice cream several times a month. Sugar Shack had a wide variety of flavors, especially those not commonly found other places. My favorite is Key Lime Pie, it is delicious as a milkshake. They have unique flavors such as: Banana Pudding, Lavender Blueberry, Coffee Pecan Brownie and Honey Infused. We treat our family to ice cream when they come here on vacation. My daughter and son-in-law ordered a Banana Split this past trip, it was impressive. The portions were so generous the two of them shared it and almost couldn't eat it all. Located in the heart of Port St Joe. Art painted walls inside and outside to get those fun photos for lasting memories. Seating inside and a bench in front of the shop to relax and enjoy your treats!

While visiting the little downtown of Port St. Joe, our group wanted to try different spots to eat. We went to Sugar Shack for some ice cream. When we entered the shop, there were no other customers and there were 2 people behind the counter. Neither of them spoke to us as we entered. We walked up to the counter and had to ask if they were ready for us to order. We our group ordered 2 ice cream cones and 2 bourbon pecan ice creams--we requested the smallest size and the response was "it's prepackaged and comes in one size." We were fine with the information, but that was literally the only words from the people who worked there. The ice cream was fine, but given the poor service, we would recommend visiting one of the other establishments for dessert.

Loved it here! It's awesome that they have gourmet sodas. Although I wish I could try them all, I got the watermelon sugar and it was delicious. I pretty much slurped it down. lol. I also got a pumpkin pie milkshake for later. I'm not a fan of the certain spices like nutmeg but I was in the seasonal spirits. If you love pumpkin spice and spices like nutmeg, then you will LOVE this milkshake. It was really good. It may be seasonal but definitely worth the buy. My mom got strawberry ice cream with whip cream on top and she love that as well. She said it tasted liked a cheesecake.

I mean no harm with this review, but I would like to educate more people about food allergies. Although I don't have a fatal allergy to nuts, I do still have an allergic reaction. I've been going to Sugar Shack since it first opened and I've always been a fan of their ice cream, regardless of the price. A little while ago, I decided I wanted a milkshake and decided to try a flavor called "Carmel Cookie Dough" not thinking I had to ask if it had any nuts in it whatsoever. The cookie dough part ended up having peanut butter in it. I instantly felt my tongue start to swell and my throat get scratchy and pretty soon, I wasn't able to speak. When the employee asked if I was allergic to nuts, my friend said yes in which the employee responded with, "We should probably write that there's nuts in this ice cream." Yes ma'am, I think that's a damn good idea. Again, I mean no harm with this review, but imagine if I had a fatal allergy. Peanut allergies are no joke. This careless mistake could ruin...
