I’ve ran another store in the crossroads mall for 4 years. I have shopped here (Macy’s) consistently for my children for all of those years. When I am upstairs in the children’s department most of the time I am never greeted, but I often find myself looking up and randomly being stared at. I’ve been a store manager for 7 years I know the difference between customer service and being profiled. For my company I have personally posted great inventories, have good customer feedback & have only had one grab and go at my store this year. They teach us that great customer service deters theft & it’s true & that’s what I teach my employees. It also will make anyone feel more valued as customers especially the ones that have shopped with you for years. I don’t feel this way when I shop downstairs Macy’s only the kids department upstairs. Today just sent me over the edge a little because I’ve tolerated it and dismissed it for so long, because I know how it feels to work in retail. I purchase a lot of my kids clothes from here and love the sales and rewards system, but I may have to find another place to shop. Say something! good morning, good evening, are you finding everything okay…..something, don’t just creep up behind a rack and stare at me from a distance. Or quietly come near me pretending to fix clothing on a...
Read moreThis is not my overall rating. This is a rating for today. Let me mention I have purchased items from this location before and have had no problem. Today is my first day requesting a manager. I went to purchase an item and it was marked one price and at the register it did not scan for the same. I add will they honor it’s labeled price. The rep said we don’t honor discounts at all. The manager mentioned if the item was discounted for the amount it was it would be a “last act” item. I have purchase this item for this same exact product at a Houston Macy’s on my Macy’s card. The manager never took responsibility that a employee could have mislabeled the product. Said that it could have only been an customer. Implying I changed it. This lack of responsibility and misinformation is my issue with today shopping experience. I will only shop online for Macy while in Michigan. Customer service just isn’t...
