Poe & Sons Work Clothes — Local services in Portage

I picked one star because In order to continue you have to hit a star ,I bought my shoes their frequently and work clothes went today to find some work boots and as I was checking out boots testing out for flexability like I always do lady told me that what I was doing is damaging boot,I laughed and told her I been we're boots for over 25 years if what I'm doing damages boots than they must be cheap because I put them thru worse at work.she didn't like remark and said I've been selling boots for the same time and I responded with,selling and wearing are two different things she did not like remark and told me to leave so if you want good service and quality boots I advise you to look elsewhere, so I go to spend my $400.00 elsewhere just because you tell people what manufacture says about boots does not make you an expert ,ware boots for eight hours or more a day for a year than tell me how comfortable and sturdy they are,just because I don't work in sales doesn't mean I don't know what I'm talking about and be careful they will not refund money if you ware them once So before you buy where them for more than 20 minutes in store or you will be stuck with boots you don't like. I always delt with the owner and seen woman working but never talked to her now I know what other customers were telling me about the woman's attitude ,so this is my personal opinion and experience I will never shop their again,comcast as better customer...

Had a warranty issue on a pair of thorogood boots. First the lady tries to tell me that it’s been over 6 months. I showed her the email correspondence with Thorogood and they said they’re warranted up to a year. She then tells me that she can’t do anything about, that the owner has to do it. Wanted to keep my work boots in order to show the owner. Since they’re my only pair of work boots, I needed them for work since this was my only day off. So she took pics of where the sole was delaminating from the boot and said she’d show the owner. I’m sorry but that is unacceptable, gas is over $4 per gallon and I’m expected to waste more of my time because the owner needs to see the issue? Anyone in the boot business can look at it and see that it’s a manufacturing defect. Poor business practices, this will be the last purchase I make from them. UPDATE: I notified Thorogood, they had me send them the boots. Said yes, it is a manufacturing defect and issued a new pair of boots. Unfortunately I still had to buy a new pair of boots in order to send those ones in. All this could’ve been avoided if Poe & Sons would’ve just taken care of it. I dont write many reveiws but im so happy to find Poes! I have worn work boots all my adult life. I got tired of wearing under performing expensive boots. I have worn most of the name brands at one point or another. Not excitedly mind you. I spoke with the miss at the counter. I asked lots of questions, she gave helpful direct answers. I told her what I thought I wanted and were other boots failed. She gave me a couple choices based on my input. I bought a flat bottom "wedge" steal toe thorogood brand. Out of the box there most comfortable boots I ever put on. I even uncontrollabley " Wowed" I also bought the two part epoxy toe shield. And a nice pair of saftey glass. I'm like everyone else. I don't like to come off of money. The quality name brand stock sells it's self. Ask questions to make sure you get what you really want. Prices are surprisingly Good!
