First time here. We got take out and really enjoyed it. We ordered the sushi for 2 which was really excellent, so fresh and beautifully presented. The rolls were great, I think they were California rolls and super fresh. My husband also tried the Mongolian sliced beef which was quite good the only problem being that there was not enough rice even though I paid for extra rice (Exactly $1.61 if you can believe it:) but I did think charging me for the extra rice was a bit tacky after I had tipped her, paid then ordered the extra rice as an afterthought). The service was very pleasant though, not great English so I can see where that could be a problem when ordering if you are looking for anything kind of particular. If you are not that familiar with Japanese cuisine (like us) it is worth a miss or two to try different things to become familiar with what fits your palette. It's worth it. Just overall superb quality. We have been getting sushi at a very upscale restaurant in downtown Valparaiso but will no longer do so. The sushi at Fuji is superior by far, so much fresher and it will be our regular take out place. Would love to dine in but they don't serve any alcohol and no longer allow you to...

This was my second visit, the first with the Mrs for our date night.
Either she was being ultra agreeable or we were really on the same page as we both were thinking just going with one of their standard "Party Trays". "B" version being the one she left up to me after consulting and getting informed by our server who was GREAT BTW!
The Party Tray B comes with a combination of 4 standard rolls and 24 pieces of nigiri style sushi. All for a VERY reasonable price point (the best I've seen outside of A.Y.C.E.) It was all quite good, the Mrs. is more comfortable with the rolls but still tried most of the nigiri, except the shrimp. We also added the Seaweed Salad which is quite sizeable and again the best price I've seen, especially considering the large portion, it too was very good! Almost ice cold and very well seasoned.
So if Japanese sushi is in your box, for the money, based on our experience, I'd have to put it at #1...
Read moreBefore Covid hit I would’ve given this restaurant a 5/5 but after they shut down and reopened their dining months after, I can only give a 3/10. Super long wait times for food when there’s barely anyone in the dining area or picking up for online orders, waitress we had came to our table maybe 3 times? Once to take our order, second was to deliver or food, and third was to give the bill; when there was only one other table full?! Which she wasn’t even covering. Didn’t even get one drink refilled, and we tried waving her down multiple times. Then the food was staggered. My husband ordered fried rice and some spring rolls. I ordered two things of sushi. Instead of it all coming out together, they brought my husbands first and then literally 30 whole minutes my sushi came, and my husband was already done. Such a shame, this place had so much potential and was a really great place for really good Japanese food. Now I don’t even think I’ll be back. Which is a...
