I didn't buy as much as I had planned because they were doing construction and they were low stock or out of many items. And also I don't know if they were Meijer employees or contractors but they were barging through and nearly knocked me over with his pallet because he didn't look to see if somebody was standing there before he started moving the pallet with the pallet jack.
Then there was the rude checkout employee. I don't know what her problem was but there was no divider thing on the far end of the conveyor belt and I could not reach the one that was close to her. But then she shoved this watermelon and other things that belong to the other customer in front of me into my items and knocked stuff over. I gave her a look and she said something like you're supposed to use a divider. I said I can't reach that one. She gave me a dirty look and finished checking out the other customer. She didn't even slide it down towards me or anything like that. She was very short with me for the rest of the transaction. And I did nothing at all to her to elicit such an awful response from her.
And then of course the Mperks didn't work. Or at least some of the items.
Customer service employee was also rude. I was supposed to get Mperks for certain items and she demanded I hand her my phone to prove that the digital coupons were clipped. I refused. Because I'm not going to just hand somebody my phone. So she yelled at me and loudly said she couldn't do anything about me not getting my discount. So I returned everything that was Mperks related that did not do the correct coupon.
Then she didn't say anything when she finished running the return and putting the funds back onto my credit card so I stood there a few seconds because I didn't know if she was done with me and I had to ask her if the transaction was now completed and she got huffy about that too.
When I got home, the Meijer branded milk that does not expire until August 22nd which was in over a week from when I purchased it was already bad. So I guess I could go back and return it and talk to the rude customer service lady again. But perhaps I won't.
Won't shop...
Read moreLook, I like shopping at Meijer it’s my to go grocery store. However, the reason I gave this store a two start is because of a frustrating experience I keep facing time after time. Prices, especially sale prices rarely match when I get to the register. When on the shelve it has one sale price, at the register it has full, higher price. It’s so frustrating! Today, I was purchasing a bag of small fresh herbs it had a sale price of $1.99, at the register it ringed at $4.99! What In the world!! Then an eco-foil roaster at the shelve, sale price at $3.99, but at the register $5.99! Are you kidding me! Someone is either not doing their job, items are not being place where they need to go, or this is done on purpose because they know it’s an inconvenience, so people bite the bullet and end up paying full price for a falsely sale advertised item to avoid any hassles. Then, when you tell the customer service representative, that this or that item was on sale for $, they look at you like your lying or trying to get a cheaper price than what the item was listed for- then what are sale prices for !? Another issue is purchasing an item, than you get home and there is mold on your bread even though it had an expiration date for a later date. My husband and I are not complainers, if something was ringed differently than what was in the shelve we either leave the item or pay the price of what it’s ringing for, but time after time we had enough. This is extremely inconvenient! Has anyone else experience...
Read moreMy experience here is usually so warm and welcoming but unfortunately yesterday I ran into a situation with a Cashier who always stares at my children, my partner and myself with a bothered face or her mouth wide open in disgust. She’s never said anything before, not even welcoming as we approach the conveyor, but yesterday after not greeting us, she proceeded to ask “what? No WIC or EBT today?” very loudly so everyone else could hear. I don’t know what she was trying to achieve, don’t know her motive but I felt offended because she didn’t ask the family infront of us that question. Mind you, they were white and we are a brown family. I called the store director to ask whether or not it was normal for cashiers to ask that, since we have never been asked that by any other Meijer employee. She said no, but also defended her actions in saying it could’ve been a misunderstanding and she might have thought I was a regular so I could’ve been mistaken. I stated that we always avoid this cashier but her lane was the only one open and I felt offended and targeted to which the store director said she didn’t agree with what was said but she has never received any other complaints on behalf of the cashier. I then asked for the store directors name and she hung up on me mid-sentence, so I had to escalate the matter to corporate. Minorities are belittled at this location and not...
