Hillsdale Farmers' Market — Local services in Portland

The market is great, my experience with managers troubling.

After filling out forms, getting insurance, meeting with the managers multiple times at their table, finally dropping off labeled samples (bottled drink of blended sweet jackfruit, dates and coconut milk)....they never gave any advice on how/when to move forward. Just always sweet smiles and thank you's. No responses to my submitted, emailed forms, either.

Just now I stopped by, just to say I fell through the cracks. (I've found distribution).

Just a a sweet smile and a "I'm sorry" from one of the managers . No ownership, no follow-through, nothing but a second, blank smile and sorry.

Again, the market and vendors are great. A different experience...

in town visiting family and they suggested breakfast at Gigi's Cafe followed by a short walk to the farmers market. I must say the idea of getting kids involved and interested in their food choices by giving them $2 in market script to spend on fruits and vegetables was genius. My picky 6 and 9 year old both enjoyed picking items they like out. So make sure to take the youngsters to the kids booth first. As other reviewers stated its not super big but the quality of stands made up for it. Im a chef by trade and I really enjoyed the food booths. I left with a few bags of produce for that nights...

What a wonderful farmers market this is! Not only conveniently located but lots of parking and a huge variety of amazingly looking produce. We decided to start coming here from now on for all our groceries and see how that goes! Vegetables do NOT look this good at the supermarket and also having exclusive access to almost-never-seen fruits, vegetables and mushrooms—and other hard-to-find goods—really make this a jewel that’s just 20 minutes...
