Dairy Hill Ice Cream — Restaurant in Portland

Dairy Hill is a solid ice cream with excellent flavor that’s also locally sourced.

I recently ordered a quart to-go from them and the process was easy and safe. I did have some trouble completing my purchase online, but I was able to call and have them collect payment over the phone. When I arrived, they had a table set-up at the entrance for keeping everyone safe. All I had to do was mention my order, and then they went and grabbed it, and I was on my way.

They were out of a couple flavors with caramel that sounded interesting, but I ended up going with the Mt. Blackberry, which I highly recommend to anyone that likes some fruit flavor in their ice cream. I can’t wait to go back and try some more flavors that I am sure...

The ice cream is good and I appreciate vegan options (though would love more) but their labeling is bad. They had a chalkboard/menu with all the flavors with labeled vegan flavors on one side, and they had a flavor that wasn’t vegan listed under it. I ate it and felt pretty sick which is why I asked about it next time I went (which by then they had changed the sign so they must have noticed the mistake) and they said it wasn’t vegan and was never written under the vegan side (though I had a photo from that day showing it…) Thankfully for me that’s all that happened but could’ve been a horrible outcome as the result of carelessness for someone with a more severe dairy allergy, and it would’ve been nice for them to take...

We drove a little out of the way to come here for ice cream after a hot day playing at the splash pad and I accidentally dropped mask outside so didn’t have one to wear. I popped my head in to ask if they had any masks since I saw a sign that said “ no mask, no entry” I got a cold no, and no offer to let us call in order or way to pick up sans mask, needless to say the kid were disappointed and I’m just curious, if you’re vaccinated what the big deal?!
