Read moreSo, I have a real horror story to share about Living Room Properties. If you are a home owner, avoid this company to rent your property at all costs. They have a lot of turnover in personnel and so blame former employees when things go wrong. They rented my house out to a a person who would not have passed the background screening on his own. The other tenants who applied with him backed out at the last minute, but they still rented to him even though he only made per month as much as the rent cost. Not only did he turn out to be habitually late on rent, but he did tens of thousands of dollars in damage to my property.
Worse, the company ignored complaints from my neighbors and did not share those concerns with me. I've since received one email from a neighbor that he sent to Living Room showing the destruction to my property. It showed the tenant had people living in the back yard and in a camper on the street out front. He took a picture showing people were powering their RV through an extension cord going into the house.
Even worse, the company has never admitted fault and continues to take a harassing stance with me despite the fact that they were negligent with the maintenance of my property. At one point, they admitted they did not even want to go to the property to inspect it because they were afraid of the tenant they rented to.
Avoid this company! They are not professional. They are scam artists masquerading as a property management company. They have cost me up to $30,000 in losses due to loss in income and the damages they allowed to happen to...
Read moreLiving room was the property manager for a place we moved into feb 2019. Applying for the place and getting into it was super easy. During the rental term they were responsive for small maintenance things. The real feedback I have is at the end of our lease term. In November 2019 we get a call saying we are getting a no cause eviction because the owners want to move back. I talk with the property manager Beatriz and she goes to bat for us with the owners. They rescind. Great we have a little more time, only to get another call The first week in January to be evicted. Side note, ask the PM or check your portal if the owners signed an exemption. The exemption removes the owners obligation to pay for moving costs.
We get this no cause eviction and we need to be out by April. I have two small kids ages 2 & 5. My daughter starts kindergarten in the fall. Our next move needed to be thoughtful to get into the right schools and find the right home for our family. 90 days is not a lot of time. Beatriz went to bat for us again, and got us an incentive if we moved out ASAP. She helped us look at other LR rentals and even helped to negotiate other owners on the rent. In the middle of winter you can negotiate the rent :)
As we moved out we had the movers scheduled for the morning and a cleaning company in the afternoon. We did such a great cleaning job they waived the carpet cleaning fee. Beatriz and I communicated closely during our last month. She called to share good news and news I didn’t want to hear but I appreciated the open communication and effort to...
