Over the years, I have searched for someone to help with my 'electroneeds'. That's such a commonplace way to start a review, but it's exceptionally true. Also, I use the term 'electroneeds' because I have found someone who can not only help me with computers, but with all other electronics -- speakers, phones, laptops, vinyl record players, receivers, EVEN the doctoring of slightly damaged vinyl records themselves, Eddie, at Tardiff Electronics, has helped me immeasurably.
Back in 2014, I was quoted a sum by Apple far beyond what I could pay to fix a broken screen on an IPhone 5C. When I contacted Eddie, not only did he assure me he could repair my product, but he acquired the parts, himself (a screen and digitizer), and then repaired my phone and had it shipped back to me in a few days. On my recommendation, he also repaired the screen of an IPad for a very close friend of mine; this was a couple years ago, and she's still got the IPad in-action. When my wife was having issues with her phone from afar, Eddie helped troubleshoot for a very fair fee; it's become clear to me that Eddie doesn't just repair items, he's interested in helping people acquaint themselves with their items, as, he's a man who knows much about the electroneeds of himself, and will impart that into others.
Recently, I was in need of a new sound system. Mine was badly damaged in a move cross-country. Eddie, at Tardiff Electronics, not only located for me an exceptionally nice VINTAGE receiver, but he also repaired it and VERY SAFELY shipped it from Maine to my home in Illinois. MOREOVER, as an accomplished musician himself, he also gave me advice on what sorts of speakers to purchase so that I might upgrade my system. Now, at my home, I enjoy my extensive vinyl collection with the most crisp sound, through a receiver that was located, repaired, and shipped cross-country to me by Eddie at Tardiff Electronics.
It goes without saying that I am partial to this man's work. But, electroneeds are often taken advantage of, much like the tried-and-true trope regarding mechanics. I can safely say that Eddie, at Tardiff Electronics, is not the typical "repair dude"; his business is based on solid work -- and through his work he seeks not to find extraneous issues with his customers' products -- and it's based on work and repair for a fair price. So, my business, my electroneeds, as a PhD at a large university in Illinois, will always go to Maine with Eddie at Tardiff Electronics....
Read moreI told the associate that my flashlight was on when my screen stopped working. He said " It won't react to a charger. It's the motherboard." Then he sold me a Galaxy 21 that KEEPS CONNECTING to my OLD phone to my dismay. Then, the alarms for my day were going off!!! On the old phone!! I asked twice if we could further diagnose and apparently that is $60!!!???!! ibreakufix in Pittsburgh PA has fixed my screen twice in ONE day no problem. CLEARLY it's privately owned ibreakufix in pittsburgh also fixed my uncles phone screen also. Twice. I DIDNT Really HAVE AN EXTRA 200 dollars! I have a younger cousin slowly dying in the Barbara Bush childrens hospital and my 5 year old traveling with me so I HAD NO other choice I needed a phone. Then it was a ridiculous pain in the A to verify myself with Google because it keeps asking me to verify with my OLD phone. He was nice to me. Friendly but I feel he took the executive decision to go the easier route to another phone even though I was pretty against it. I'm sorry man if you thought you were helping me by up grading and are reading this. You were nice to me, but the associate on the phone when I called about this SOUNDED rude and cold and unhelpful about it and told me " the other guy is good at his job" were his literal words. And I would suggest you go to the store at home then. I wanted so.e money back for inconvenience or maybe an APoLOGY??? You should probably be a little friendlier to customers on the phone who have a problem with something YOU tried to fix. I am going to talk to the associate again to see if he is NICE to me like a human. But that was an extremely RUDE way to handle a phone call with a customer. It's about 11 a.m. on Thursday, so whoever may be there then. Dan was very nice and helpful, have him answer the phone. I even feel horrible leaving g this review, but the way the person on the phone was to me was not cool at all, and I have ten immediate family members plus with me because if what is going on. So I hope to hear maybe an apology in response to this or maybe when I call back, because if the person there is rude and cold...I ha e alot of people who can leave reviews...justsaying. Ugh . Maybe it was MY voice ,but I explained the situation and...
Read moreHad a awful experience with this company as a hole. On a Friday night I accidentally put the smallest crack in the bottom right corner of my phone and lost 3/4 of my touch screen abilities. Saturday went to Verizon and they were nice enough to let me use there phone do to the fact I couldn't even unlock my phone or even turn it off. When I called at approximately 10am they stated that they will send me a overnight box so I can send my phone in to be repaired witch I knew most likely means Monday and I was fine with that. Monday came and went and no box so I called asking for a status update on my girlfriends phone and he said will definitely be in tomorrow (Tues). While I was on the phone with him I asked a question because I was reading the before shipping your phone instructions and it said make sure your phone screen is unlocked, so I asked him what if I can't unlock it because I lost 3/4 of my touch screen and he replied "sir, would you like the tracking number?". I told him no I had that I just want to know the answer to my question and repeated it. He then replied after a short pause "sir, would you like me to give you the tracking number?". This went on like two more times before I hung up on him. Called back different person to get almost the same outcome. Next day (Tues) I called and a lady answered I told her my frustrations ans asked my question again and she stated if your phone isn't unlocked when we get it we will send it back to you without repairing it and if might take 5 business days. I lost it I went to my local phone repair place he fixed my phone in 30 minutes and DIDN'T need my...
