Spent two nights in 2 bed/Harbor view room. Room was amazing, clean, well appointed, spacious. Decor was lovely, clean, practical. Beds were amazing. Linens were soft, classic white, comfortable and cozy. Small seating area by window with ottoman was nice place to sip coffee, watch news or look out window. Desk with rolling chair. Lighting galore. Many usb charging ports throughout the room and lots of usable plugs available. Mini fridge and mini coffee maker were adequate. Plenty of mirrors everywhere. Bathroom - amazing. Super strong stream from shower head, ultra modern bathroom design, enough hot water for multiple showers. hair dryer was great. Mini toiletries were great quality. TV was new flat screen wall mounted with adequate options for channels. Internet was free, wireless and worked really well, not dropped once. Fast elevators. Did not have time to use the pool (small but looked inviting) on first floor by the elevator. Valet service was fast, courteous and the staff were the best. Nice, helpful, kind, respectful and prompt. Brian was great! Same with the free local shuttle service the hotel provides. Cafe (only had breakfast there) was clean, staff was friendly, food was fresh, hot and delicious. Meg (server at cafe) another outstanding staff member, she was very informative about the area, always smiling and another asset to this hotel
Staff. The staff at this hotel in a word, fabulous. Everyone we met greeted us with a smile, offered to assist, and genuinely appeared to care. I will definitely be returning to the area (did not have a lot of time to sight see, but liked what I saw) and when I do, I will definitely be returning...
Read moreThe hotel, view, amenities, etc are all great, but what really makes this hotel phenomenal is the staff. We stayed 3 days over February vk, the front desk staff was the same all 3 days (I wish I could remember their name, she was a middle aged woman, on the shorter side, with the prettiest silver eye shadow and beautiful blue manicure) She could not have been any more amazing! She was great with our little one, we felt like she was invested in us having a great little trip, and she was just so personable and lovely to chat with. We so enjoyed every interaction with her! She definitely deserves a raise!! We did have one incident in the pool when two extremely inebriated parents brought their two kids in to swim, then proceeded to not watch them as they drove everyone but us, out of the pool. I’ve never in my life complained about another guest while traveling (which we do frequently) but this was a safety issue. It was so uncomfortable to even say anything, but again the same staff member immediately addressed the issue and did so very professionally. We only live two hours away from Portland, this was a spur of the moment decision to head down and try to give our little a mini vk during February break. We often come to Portland for a long weekend and we have stayed in dozens of hotels over the years. This is definitely one hotel we will be returning to and it is 100% because the staff is so fantastic! From the front desk to housekeeping every one was phenomenal. Don’t get me wrong, the hotel is lovely too. However, you can have the most luxurious hotel in the world, but if you don’t have great staff, you...
Read moreNice room but cold, indifferent staff at front desk.
We stayed in a spacious top-floor room overlooking the harbor. While much of the view was taken up by a large public parking lot, the room itself was excellent—very clean, with large comfortable beds, a modern bathroom, and everything in good working order.
The valet service was $40, which felt reasonable for convenience, though I later realized the cars are kept in an outdoor lot without cameras. Next time I might just park myself. The public parking lot across the street is a good alternative, but keep in mind it’s not free—make sure to read the sign at the entrance and purchase a daily pass for $15, a few blocks away on Spring Street.
The real downside was the staff. Both at the front desk and in the restaurant, they came across as indifferent and unwelcoming. My check-in took about a minute with no information provided—I had to ask about all the basic info. During our stay, we were never greeted when passing by; staff didn’t even lift their eyes. When I approached the desk with a question, it often felt as though I was interrupting. Ordering breakfast in the restaurant came with the same cold, dismissive attitude. The only exception was one staff member at checkout who showed genuine care. It seems customer service here isn’t consistent, but rather depends on the personality of individual staff member.
Overall, we loved the room, but the lack of hospitality from the staff left a...
