I had my hair cut by willow b on October 21. I disclosed that I was autistic and had sensory needs on top of specifications with my hair. Among those things is that I did not want to lose any volume and I only wanted a trim. Willow confirmed a half inch cut for dead ends and showed the amount she would trim. Willow took before pictures and started cutting my hair and did a dastardly stair-step job on my bangs. She razor cut my hair and I lost 4 inches total and she has thinned my hair so much I haven’t stopped crying since. As she began the razor cut, I told her my concerns about the volume that was lost in that first small section she cut in the back. Instead of doing anything to conceal the damage and follow what I asked for, she proceeded to razor cut my entire head of hair in 1 inch sections, doing the haircut she wanted for her portfolio despite my protests. I spent the rest of the appointment silent as she pressured me to do more color services and had me leave with my hair processing in a shower cap. (She started my appointment an hour late and had asked me to split my services and leave the appointment with raw, bleached, untoned roots, from Tuesday to her next availability on Saturday. Ultimately she but a bit of blue to “match” my existing dye). I went home and rinsed my hair to find the beautiful, vibrant blue hair I went in to trim had been dyed to a muddy seaweed color. I had considered another color when I came in, but when I saw how she had butchered my hair and wrecked my roots, I tried to just minimize the change and damage Willow inflicted. I asked to just refresh my color at that point.
My hair was a huge part of my confidence and identity. It is awful for a new stylist to pressure drastic hair changes, especially to an autistic client, but it is cruel for a new stylist to do that without the skill set to actually execute the hairstyle, and further so if the client specified she didn’t want that hair cut.
She reassured me multiple times throughout the cut that she wouldn’t take my volume, and that stylists had done the to her before, all while I was bringing up concerns and she was butchering my hair. I paid $160 for this, and left with my head burning and covered in irritated bumps.
I asked for a half inch trim and to not lose volume or length beyond a trim. I asked over and over for her to stop and to follow what I wanted, but she did want she wanted to and ruined my hair. Ruined it, I sincerely cannot stop crying. My hair meant so much to me and I’ve spent years getting it healthily and vibrantly blue. I can’t tie my hair back in the ways I used to style it, and the razor cutting was so uneven and jagged that my hair is itchy and giving me sensory distress, and I can’t tie it up. I am...
Read moreMy hair apointment went nothing like it sopose to. They gave me the wrong color . They changed my apointment type without my knowledge. I told her how important it was as im in a wedding. The stylist had no idea what she was doing and just said she was new and that she had never done a multitone service. I had the worst experience at this location with the stylist and the manager. I asked for it to be fixed and they refused to fix it because according to them it went the way it should have. I asked for a wine red and I came out looking like the little mermaid. Now while I appreciate all the comments from staff that it was pretty it wasn't what I asked for and no where near the color. I go to ulta all the time and have never had an issue and now I left and I hate my hair and they said only option is to charge me to fix it when they messed it up. I'm extremely disappointed. I asked to speak to the person above the manager and the response I got was their busy as they are a hair stylist who also has apointments. So I don't know when they'll call but I'll give them your name add number.
Update : I have now Been contacted and told they will issue a refund for the service but Ulta will no longer service me because I was unsatisfied with my service and was upset. Now all of a sudden I treated the stylist poorly. The stylist never even talked to me my whole apointment till she was washing my hair out. (In which we talked about various things and it wasn't unplesent) so now I've recieved back lash for being unhappy with...
Read moreI have many years of cosmetic sales and customer service experience under my belt. And the experience I just had at this Ulta, was not great. First off, I wasn't greeted. Then a gal popped out of nowhere and awkwardly shouted "HI!" at me. Not "welcome, how are you? Let me know if there is anything I can help you with!" Just "HI!", and walked away. Then as I was looking for a product, another associate came up and said "oh are you color matching?", I replied "yes, I love this product but it's always sold out." She goes "oh yeah. Too bad. Shipment comes in tomorrow." Then walked away!!! Are you kidding me??? She didn't ask what color I was, or offered to check if there was any extra product in the back, or offer to get my information so when the shipment came I could come and buy it or offer to send it to me. I was willing to drop major cash to stock up. What a loss that was. Then, and this by far is the worst part, I was almost the only person in the store I was ready to check out and 3 of the associates where just sitting at the cash wrap chatting away with each other, and not one but TWO of them looked me straight in the eyes and did even acknowledge me! It wasn't until the gal that had orgianlly greeted me saw me (which hello? It's not like the place was busy) motioned me to come over to check me out. Horrible. Horrible. Horrible. Who ever manages customer experience has quite the job to do. If I ever acted like this at a counter or my current business, I would be written up. Disappointed to...
