Very poor customer service not only that, this clever bunch of clowns have the audacity to make false accusations about their customers. I received a phone call after leaving sportsman's wear house earlier that day from Provo Police Officer he asked me if I had been there earlier around 1:00 yes officer I responded. He demands I come in for questioning. I meet the officer at the Provo PD. He started questioning me asking if I took ammo from sportsman's,I tell him no. I did look at ammo that I placed in my basket. He proceeds to tell me sportsman's security is claiming they saw me on surveillance place the ammo inside my purse, which is incorrect I ended up not buying anything that day, due to the way the employees were acting. They were extremely rude and made me feel uncomfortable they were following me around and watching me like a hawk and being very over being. I finally put my basket down and walked out of the store. My boyfriend and I had been in there the day before. He made a PURCHASE of $175.00 that day. The reason I returned the next day was to PURCHASE a few items for him for Christmas. "Security probably recognized me from the day before, I'm assuming they Became skeptical." I was arrested on retail theft and booked into the Utah County Jail with as bail set at $5000 bondable leaving me to pay $500 to be released on false allegations. The officer searched my car for the ammo and my belongings, finding nothing. The officer took note of everything in the basket. He stated there was still ammo in the basket. If I had stole the ammo don't you think the ammo wouldn't have been there any longer? also why didn't sportsman's security stop me when leaving the store if I had allegedly stole ammo? Isn't that what security/loss prevention is there for? I have been to court and resolved this matter btw it was my phone I put in my purse not no ammo thank you!!! Not only did they falsely accuse me they lied on the civil suit they filled. Claiming the pricing for the ammo was $90 which the ammo that I didn't steal and was placed in my basket was only $30. When talking to my attorney through out this head ache you (Sportsmans) Smith grocery, and Macey's are nothing but a pain in the ass to law enforcement the court system and the public. This came from my attorneys mouth they fill up our court system and jails eating law enforcement time and everyone else's with petty retail theft when there is so much more important things to be dealt with. They're just concerned with themselves, trying to make another buck and they're already getting to write off the thefts on their taxes. QUIT TRYING TO BE A HERO. WHY DON'T YOU SAVE THE SYSTEM A HUGE HASSLE. LET OUR OFFICER'S DEAL WITH BIGGER AND BETTER THINGS QUIT WASTING EVERYONE...
Read moreTerrible customer service and a very unwelcoming experience.
I was standing in the aisle trying to decide between two items, reading reviews on my phone, when an employee approached asking if I needed help. I told him I was having trouble deciding because I had read about each item's pros/cons and was weighing the options. I asked if he recommended one over the other. He said he "literally" knew nothing about the two products. I noticed another employee at the gun counter and asked if maybe he, or someone else, would know. He said "Nobody here knows anything about these." I found that very hard to believe because each are popular brands. I was especially surprised with his unhelpfulness and bad attitude because he approached me. I just picked the item that was made in the USA over the one made in China; despite the American made item being $40 more at $249.99. After that experience I would have gone elsewhere but they were the only place in Utah Valley with the American made item in stock.
I ended up taking it and a few other things to checkout; I guessed about $300 worth of items. The cashier rang everything up and said the total was $30.05. I told her that she must have missed the $250 item. She snapped, insisting that she scanned everything; scanned it again and said "See! $30.05!" I pointed to the green price tag on the large and obviously expensive item which was labeled $249.99. Even then she didn't see the problem, raised her voice and saying that she couldn't scan the price tag only the bar code which she did and the total was $30.05. I said, "I'd love to pay $30.05 for all this stuff but this price tag says $249.99 for this one item alone, so something is not right." She again said she couldn't scan the price tag then realized her mistake, looked up the price in her system to charge the right amount. After I paid she me the receipt and I thanked her. She said nothing, just turned around and walked in their break room.
Next time will drive on to Cabela's or order...
Read moreToday I was reminded why I would rather drive to Saratoga Springs than the Provo store that is much closer for me. This store is typically understaffed, and the staff that is there is rarely very helpful. I was the only person at the optics counter today and the guy that must have been the manager came in 3 times and scolded the only worker for helping me and not guarding the counter. He could have done that himself if it was so important. This morning I went to pick an order at the front desk. Two workers behind the calendar were engrossed in a conversation about their weekend plans. I waited for the only worker who was working to pick up my special order. Then when I got to the office, I noticed that the box seal had been cut. I opened it and it is missing the battery cover. I removed everything to double check and no cover. I understand that people change their mind and return things. When I have, they call a manager to make sure the parts are all there. Someone isn't doing their job in Provo... I called to see if they had another in stock. I got to hold for several people and passed from person to person. Finally someone said I'll check but I'll have to call you back. They called bacl later and said that is the only one. I guess I'll take it back and go buy it at Gunnies where I noticed it is on sale for less money anyhow. Exhausting! Good thing gas is so cheap and my time is worth absolutely nothing, otherwise I would be pretty upset :-/ BTW, I was going to put 2 stars because it is a large store with lots of inventory. But my experience was 0 stars, so it averaged at 1 star. What good is inventory if you can't get any help or things are missing parts. I paid for new, but was given used product and they didn't even make sure the parts were all...
