2/25 they ran out of manicotti & garlic bread by 5:30 pm Saturday night because it was a busy day. 8:12 pm they had already put away the homemade jam for the night but a lady got it for me when I asked for it.
Cookies are now made in the restaurant and are the best thing there. They taste homemade. Spaghetti sauce is gross because of the meat they put in it.
1/6/24 All the chocolate chip cookies were burnt so I asked the manager nayhs if I could have some of the less burnt cookies on the cooling rack and she laughed at me and she said some customers like them crispy so they can dip them in coffee. I told her they probably take them because there aren’t any other options and if I want a brunt crispy cookie I can get one at the grocery store. I told her she should have some of each so people can choose. She said she can’t control the oven. I told her good customer service is to apologize not laugh at the customer.
11/20/23 prices went up. It’s not worth it. There was hardly anything good to eat. Most everything tastes artificial. Mashed potatoes and gravy tasted like nothing. Mac and cheese had zero flavor. There isn’t enough room in the east room for two long tables in the middle of the room. It’s difficult to walk past people in big groups in there. They should have designed it 2’ wider.
Prices just went up to $18/adult on weekends. Pizza crust is SO good. Much better than Pizza Pie Cafe. Garlic bread is amazing! The marinara sometimes doesn’t have enough tomatoes and has too much meat but 5/22 was great! mashed potatoes are instant. Rolls have improved and were amazing! Wheat rolls soft and chewy and fresh out of oven with blueberry pie filling for them, more salad bar toppings than Golden Corral including peas, fresh pineapple, peeled grapefruit, sometimes kiwi. They use metal serving spoons in their hot dishes so you aren’t eating melted plastic in your food like at Golden Corral which prevents cancer. No burnt food. Wish they had a few more vegetarian options for main dishes like vegetarian lasagna but their lasagna is usually ok and I just pull the meat off it the best I can. Mint Icecream is delicious and not watery. Lunch 11-4, Dinner 4-9 pm, Sunday til 8 pm. Mon-Thu lunch $12, Mon-Thu dinner $15, Fri lunch $12, Fri dinner $18, Sat lunch $13, Sat dinner $18, Sun $18 all day. Kids 4-12 90 cents per year for lunch, $1.10 per year for dinner. Manicotti is great but needs a little more marinara on it and has too much cheese inside but you can put some spaghetti sauce on it. I wish they had less meat in the spaghetti sauce. The apple dessert is amazing when they don’t overdo the brown sugar. The strawberry frozen yogurt tastes artificial. Very little wait time. The hot cocoa tastes to sugary and not very chocolatey. I wish they had fruit juice. Monday: International, Tuesday: Italian or Chinese, Wednesday: Chuck Wagon, Thursday: Mexican, Friday: Sea food, Saturday: Italian again, Sunday: Family (whatever that means). I told the manager that the Oriental broccoli mushroom carrot stuff tasted old and over cooked like it looks, and she agreed that it probably had been there a while and laughed and...
Read moreThis is our go-to place for lunch. It is the standard by which we decide if a lunch price is a good deal. Now, of course we don't go to Chuck-A-Rama every day of the week. We have to go elsewhere so that we can have variety.
But, as we visit other places we often ask ourselves if we are paying too much for lunch. For example, if a lunch here at Chuck-a-rama is 12 bucks, and they offer a nice salad, drinks, and dessert to go along with the meal for that price, then other places should be similarly priced for lunch. Therefore, if we go somewhere and the price comes back at $12 and it didn't include drinks, then someone somewhere is getting ripped off.
That means that when I go somewhere else for lunch and the meal is 17 dollars with a drink, yet I did NOT get a nice salad nor a dessert, then I feel like I got cheated. We only have so much free cash that we can throw at lunches during a given week. There has to be a line drawn somewhere. And, I guess that we have decided that Chuck-A-Rama is our line. The line from which all other lunches are judged.
I wrote the above a couple of years ago, but it still holds true. We went there for lunch again today and as usual, I came away pleased. The salad bar is always kept fresh and clean. I don't have any complaints about the whole place.
Today the chicken was spot on! I particularly liked the cornbread and honey butter today. Dang! It was good! I got a piece with every plat of food and included cornbread and honey butter on my last...
Read moreWe haven't been to Chuck-a-Rama in over 9 years and honestly it's never been our favorite. We decided to give it a try and I'm so glad we did. The food has improved a ton from the last time we came. The salad bar did not disappoint! I loved all of the fresh food available and there was definitely something for everyone is my family. My kids loved the rolls and cornbread especially! I enjoyed the roast beef and was happy to see horseradish available for the side. We enjoyed the turkey also.
We were a little sticker-shocked for kid's prices. I wish they were more reasonable because my kids eat like sparrows. I'd give it 5 stars if kids were more reasonably-priced.
Updated: We came again, but this time for lunch. We were pleased with the selection and the price for our whole family was better. We came on Tuesday and they featured Asian food. The orange chicken and sweet and sour chicken were so good. The chicken was crispy and the sauces were yummy. The salad selection is so good! There is definitely something here for everyone.

We came again for lunch. It was "Chuck Wagon" day so they had onion rings, beans, sausage and grilled peppers, cheesey potatoes, and BBQ ribs. The salad bar was really yummy and we love all the fresh choices. My kids' favorite part was making their own sundaes. We love that there is something here that everyone loves. One suggestion is to not include drinks or charge less for those that...
