I order from China Star once a week for dinner. The food is consistently good. Usually Generals or MooGoo combo. Always cooked well and flavorful. Saturday 8/12/23 i got a little something extra with my food. Appeared to be a piece of a Brillo pad? Picture enclosed. Hey nice to know they scrub the WOK. Very young lady behind the counter seems to get overwhelmed very easily. I called ahead not busy...i paid for food..was not out yet..waited 15 minutes bagged food placed on counter as i stood there but she didnt bother to check the numbers after customers left the counter. Waited 5 minutes approached the counter gave number...oh yea here. No offer of home made duck sauce. I'll chalk that up to being young and stuck working on a Saturday

Super disappointed! This has been my go to place for many years but the last few times not so much. Food is bland portions are small for same/higher price. Their egg rolls were to die for but now they are at least a third smaller and tasteless. Convenient but gonna have to find a new place . There was so much celery in my last order it was insane!

Ordered some food from here and for as much as I spent you would think it would have been good at least?? The egg rolls were dry and chewy as were the crabrangoon. Very disappointed plus I ordered pan seared dumplings. And I got pan burnt dumplings. Won't be back just wish I didn't spend what I did for very poor quality food.

Very friendly staff. Tried this place again because it was the highest-rated place to get a pupu platter in Putnam. My family likes crab rangoon so we ordered extra. We had tried this place years ago but didn't like it, but figured we'd give it another try because of the high reviews, thought maybe things had improved.

The flavors on nearly every item were just off. The rangoons were flat, chewy, and had a funky taste. Egg roll had a funny taste. Ordered some beef lo mein which had a very strange flavor, almost like super-eggy.

Maybe this is the just the style of the chef there, but it wasn't very close to what you would expect ordering these items. Normally Chinese food doesn't last very long in our house, but honestly we tried some of everything and after seeing how it tasted we had to throw most of it away.

Again, the staff was very nice, so hopefully they keep working on their recipes and I'm sure this could become a...

Ordered an Egg Fu Young combo plate. When it arrived, rice, gravy and eggroll were cold. I ate some of it and became more disgusted with every bite. I informed the owner and he took my plate of food and microwaved the cold food. I did not go to this restaurant to eat cold stale food I asked the owner to make me a new plate and HE ABSOLUTELY REFUSED. I ASKED HIM FOR A REFUND AND HE ABSOLUTELY REFUSED TO GIVE ME ONE AS HE KEPT INSISTING THE FOOD WAS PERFECT. So my China Star visit resulted in food that was inedible and my not getting a refund so I lost $11.00. I have Never experienced such rude behavior in me entire life. I guess the old adage of "the customer is always right" does not apply at this establishment. I will never go back...
