Do not shop here if you can afford it. I used to like going here but every time I do I like it less and less because of how snooty and unhelpful the employee's are.
I went in a few days ago to buy a birthday gift. After looking at most of the store I found something and bought it. As I was leaving something even better caught my eye. So, without even leaving the store, I turn around and ask to exchange the first purchase with the second. The employee responds with a "we don't do returns, sorry".
I was stunned, I hadn't even left the store and you aren't going to let me return the item? I figured that maybe he was new or didn't have the authority so I asked for the manager. She comes out and I explain that I would like to exchange my first purchase with an identical costing second purchase. Her Response? "Sir, our return policy is clearly printed and circled at the bottom of the receipt. We do not accept returns or exchanges except for what's stated on the receipt"...
So I turned and left, got home, and looked into this "Return Policy" of theirs.
Return Policy: "UNOPENED merchandise (except all poker related items, collectible miniatures games, dice, trading card games, card accessories, books, mind puzzles, paints, drinks, bags, apparel, and clearance items) can be returned or exchanged within 2 weeks of date of purchase WITH ORIGINAL GAME ON! RECEIPT"
all the Caps are actually how they appear on the receipt but yeah... So... That "except all" part covers everything in their store... Actually, it doesn't specify "Board Games" but behold when I called and asked they said that any Board Games with miniatures are covered under the "collectible miniatures games" because the game itself is "collectible" and it has "miniatures"... The same applies for dice board games and card board games...
In summation, even though I never even left the store with my initial purchase, and my desired exchange item would've caused them no loss in sales, they refused to allow me the exchange. Bad customer service, bad management, bad overall experience which is going to paint my view of them and make me not shop there again, I'll drive the 10 extra minutes to the next nearest local...
Read moreNot sure what has happen in the last 6-8 months, but this particular store has lost my business. I don’t consider myself as a regular, I got bills to pay, but with this being one of the only gaming stores in this area, I go about once or twice a month to purchase a new games, yet that is not the case anymore. Lately I have notice that the once friendly and energetic staff has been replaced by some new staff members that are extremely rude. For instance, I always felt like when I walked into the store it was like seeing old friends again. The staff would usually remembered my name or by previous games I purchased and would make suggestions based on my interest. However, as of late hardly none of the staff will great you, if you have a question about a game they act like it’s one of the hardest questions their brains have ever had to answer. As mention in a previous comment their return policy is one of the dumbest policy I have ever come a cross. Most gaming stores have the usual, “7 days to return non open games.” Or something similar, but at Game On its pretty much all sales final or “If I have already rang it up in the system but have not processed the trans action there are no take backs.” Also same goes for holiday receipts once it has been purchased/ rung up it’s now yours. My suggestion to you is to go check out TerraCrux Games in Tacoma or Uncle Games in...
Read moreHi, Game On! I've always gotten great customer service from you guys the last several years, and I've had fun at several of your Pokemon TCG prereleases. My wife and I spent a good chunk of money to participate in the Journey Together (Pokemon TCG) prerelease on 3/16. For every prerelease I've done in the past, players were guaranteed the four booster packs inside the build and battle box, as well as three extra booster packs at the end of the event. However, once we were seated for the prerelease (and had already paid), that's when we found out that we wouldn't be getting the three extra booster packs at the end of the event. This was very disappointing because the cost to enter the prerelease was the same as it had been for previous prereleases, but we got fewer booster packs this time. I even looked up official Pokemon policy, and their website states that all players should get three more booster packs at the end of a prerelease (on top of the four they get with the build and battle decks). I'll be honest - we feel a bit scammed. There should've been some communication with people as they were signing up for the prerelease to let them know they wouldn't be getting three extra booster packs at the end of the event. We wouldn't have paid $60 for the two of us to participate if we had known about this. It makes me hesitant to attend future prereleases...
