3 Amigos — Restaurant in Puyallup

I really do not like giving bad reviews but if I didn't ,that wouldn't be doing any favors for potential customers or the business.

I feel that the new owners/management may not have done their research before opening. The prior owner had a long, over 20 year, successful food establishment with loyal customers. To walk in the restaurant without a clue that there were new owners, everything looking completely different, was a shock. No signs, no notices of the change, nothing. Even when ordering, a sign or something explaining (new menu) would have been helpful. The salsa bar was gone, along with the juice/horchata machines.

The food was not up to par. The taco meat was hard to chew and barely edible along with the prices being on the higher end. The salsa lacked flavor and tasted like vinegar.

Just a suggestion, a soft opening, new signage out front, introducing yourselves, having customers try your food, getting feedback, ect. finding out what kept customers coming back for 20yrs, I really think that would have benefited both the restaurant...

I have not been here for about 5 months and I was surprised to see the salsa bar was gone. I came because I was craving menudo, there was a couple of changes from my last visit

1. My portion was more broth than menudo
2. It did not have fresh made tortillas
3. Pork feet were not available with the meal. I asked the waitress she said the owner changed so did the menu because there was a different cook. I suggest at least bring the fresh tortillas since those are the best to have with your meal, for the price I had more broth than meat and it looked like it was from a can. I know the menudo shrinks when cooking maybe bigger pieces will make the trick to a) do not look like can food b) fill the dish with meat more than broth.

The lady also explained why the salsa bar was removed, it is understandable you don’t want other people other than guests to utilize it, perhaps moving it to a different location away from the door just for guests to enjoy as this as one of the perks coming...

I write this review with no pleasure. I live close by and always thought this was the most authentic Mexican in the area. Since it's recent changes in ownership it has severely decreased in all aspects. Authenticity, flavor, portions... it has all gone down hill. The enchiladas (2 chx, 1 cheese) were severely undercooked. Cheese not melted and everything cold. I tried to justify by saying we got food togo but was reminded by my wife that we always took food to go here and it was never this low of quality. I am never really one to post bad reviews unless absolutely deserving, and this was one of those unfortunate times.
