Actually this is his wife, Barbara posting. I recently replaced 2 .12ct diamonds on the side of my engagement diamond with by 2 .41ct ones Since I had not had the ring re-appraised in 4 yrs. I had it appraised by Joel after the replacement. I fully expected that the larger side diamonds, that the rings value would increase. It was DECREASED by $650.00. I have had the ring appraised every few years.....before the newer larger side diamonds. Mr. Hassler's appraisal is less than 4 other similarly credential individuals. I provided him with copies of all previous appraisals dating back to 1998 from individuals with similar credentials. I have had a dialog with him but he simply says 'value is subjective'. He even downgraded the color and clarity of the stones, again all other 4 have agreed on both. Mr. Hassler says that the value of gold and gems decrease/fluctuate in some instances. Sadly, since I have to update my insurance company for proper description, I have to submit it at the lower value. Should I sustain a total loss, I do hope that the amount is sufficient to replace it. I do have other jewelry that need updates, but I will ask my jewelry store to find...

My wife got some rings from her grandfather 20 years ago. He has since passed and around 8 years ago these rings broke. I searched in secret every few months to find someone to recreate these without breaking the bank, for years. I finally landed here.
