After visiting this business three times now, the initial charm of the beautiful building and nice lighting has begun to wear off. During my last visit, there was a man in the store with a small, aggressive dog. This dog barked, growled at, and chased a little girl leaving the store, and then a family of three entering. The owner of the dog did nothing to control his dogs behavior, and the employees did nothing either, despite many of the customers being clearly uncomfortable with this man's dog. Additionally, the line/pick up option is very confusing/vauge and I (probably unintentionally) have been cut in line on multiple occasions there. I want to like this place, but with constant mishaps happening within my first 5 minutes of being in the store, it dampens the mood for the rest of my stay. This piled on top of none of the games having any pieces and a loud dog barking, it seems easier to leave than stay inside. For how much you're paying it's probably better to quick get something and leave, rather than risk having the experience tainted by staying. Wish I could but I wouldn't become a regular :( I hate leaving less than happy reviews, but with the dog situation I felt it was important to do so as not everyone is okay with/comfortable...
Read moreThe gelato is superb, and the building has a really nice historic aesthetic. Unfortunately, the service from the employee last night was less than pleasant. He seemed annoyed that we were there and we had to ask to initiate service. There was no "welcome" or "how can I help you" or any attempt at customer service. When I asked about a particular flavor availability, l was told with an exasperated tone "whatever is in the case is what's available". It was apparent that he just wanted to close and we were preventing that. We arrived at 8pm, 30 minutes before close. It wasn't like we walked in at 8:28pm. I understand people have "off" days, and sometimes personal issues can interfere with your outward attitude. I don't know if anything like that was going on here.
I don't write this to get anyone in trouble. I've worked customer service the majority of my life. Rather, I hope this can be one of those "training opportunity" moments. Also, I have visited before and the service was pleasant, so I don't anticipate rude service is the norm here. Thank you for receiving my comment. Hope your business continues and has a...
Read moreI have this place 3 stars just for the taste and presentation of the macaroons. There weren’t as many flavors as I would have liked but a good selection. My daughters have been wanting to try macaroons and bubble tea. None of us has ever tried either one. I wish the staff was more friendly and inviting. I got the vibe of ok just hurry up and order. I explained that the girls have been wanting to try the bubble tea and am very unsure or clear of what goes in them. I asked if the lady helping us had a favorite and I didn’t get an answer so I just named 2 flavors from the board they had displayed by the register which were apparently the boba flavors lol so we picked a gelato and boba flavors. We did not realize the rainbow was not actually boba bubbles but some kind of chewy substance. We did not like because of the texture. Just wish the lady helping us gave us insight or suggestions. Not sure if we’ll be back just because I am super big with...
