In the age of COVID, it's hard to find a restaurant that is striving to maintain safety standards and still put some delicious food out there for its patrons, but Amos Los Tacos manages to get it right on both counts with only minor bumps. Firstly, Amos gets the ordering right with an easy to read menu and the ability to order days in advance and choose a pick up time. They also, conveniently have spaces on front of their restaurant to wait, call in, and have someone promptly bring your food out to you! They have, also, carefully considered their "take-out" side of the menu and making sure you are getting hot and not "overdone" or soggy food. They offer two take n' bake options including Enchiladas and Nachos, all with choices of protein and lots of options for toppings! We tried the Enchiladas with tinga de pollo and were not disappointed. My only gripe, and it is minor is that the directions for baking didn't state when to put the enchilada sauce on it, only the cheese, but if you put it on when you bake the cheese portion, it tastes wonderful! We also tried one of the 10 packs of barbacoa tacos with rice, beans and we added guacamole for a small upcharge. The beef was marinated and slow cooked to shredded perfection with subtle smokiness and hits of Adobe and sweetness! Just what we needed especially when prepped with the baja toppings! We got the soft corn tortillas, which I usually recommend over flour, but I have to say they did not travel well, they were stuck together and because they were packed hot, the steam made them mushy and wet. I am sure they would have been perfect served directly in the restaurant. I also enjoyed the rice and beans. Classic refried beans that were smooth with a hint of spice. I absolutely loved the white rice with lime and cilantro! It was creamy and delicious and reminded me of a recipe we make at home a called green rice, except without the mint! Overall, a great experience! I cannot wait to go in person and try them out! I would highly recommend Amos Los Tacos!

Updated Review - 4/22/23: We were hungry on a Saturday night and didn’t feel like going out…. so we ordered Amos Los Tacos on DoorDash. We were happy we did. The food was hot and delicious! Everything came exactly as we ordered it. I got the Fish Fry Tacos. My wife got the El Gordo Burrito…. And we also got Guacamole and chips…. And Queso and chips. As usual, everything was perfect. Once again, I would highly recommend Amos Los Tacos!!! —————————————————————————— Updated Review - 9/29/22: We walked right in. No wait. Sat in a booth. The waitress was friendly and informative. We had just had her when we ate at Butcher & Barrel earlier this week. They are both owned by the same people. We were also happy to see the new General Manager, Bella. He used to work at the Kenosha Country Club. Once again, the food was delicious. We tried a new appetizer this time…. Fundido. It was incredible! As always, I would highly recommend Amos Los Tacos! NOTE: In case you didn't know, there is a parking garage behind the restaurant. If you park on the second floor of the garage, there is a door that opens directly into the back of the restaurant. Super convenient! —————————————————————————- Updated Review - 7/7/22: This time we ate in the restaurant... rather than to-go or Door Dash. We are glad we did. The service was fast and friendly. The food was super delicious... and it is a fun place to eat. Again... I would highly recommend Amos Los Tacos! ————————————————————————— Original Review: We have eaten at Amos Los Tacos multiple times…. we have NEVER been disappointed. The food is delicious. They have the best rice and beans ever! The meat is cooked to perfection. I highly recommend Amos Los Tacos!

Great updates from the previous restaurant. The space has been made to look more useful, open and fun! The menu is small but detailed. House margarita impressed our taste buds. Chips and salsa are absolutely delicious. Our first experience was great customer service. They have online reservation options which is amazing during COVID. Plus nice to know we would walk in be sitted right away for our date night. DEFINITELY worth a stop at! My husband and i will be back for another date night soon.

I wanted this place to be good sooooooooooo bad.... but it was a pretty infuriating experience.... 3 people behind bar but no one acknowledged us as we walked in and stood in the door waiting for direction (it was NOT busy when we arrived)... we finally seated ourselves and waited for a server.... and waited.... and waited.... and waited. When the bartender finally acknowledged us, he sent a waitress over who didn't say a word, just set down chips and just walked away... and then we waited and waited and waited again .... the bartender (who was super nice, but should not have had to tend both the bar and the tables) finally came over to get drink orders and bring us menus.... then we waited and waited... (you understand) ... tiny, expensive drinks finally arrived followed a long time later by tiny (like ridiculous), terrrrrrrible tacos.... honestly the worst I've ever had.... and I am NOT a picky eater!... no condiments were available/offered so we choked down the tiny tacos while sparingly sipping the water that took forever to refill... and left feeling angry, disappointed and reallllllllly let down.... p.s. the 3 tables that came in after us had similar, if not worse, experiences... one waited over 25 mins for 5 drinks from the bar... and all complained about the service the entire time.... i reallllly hope this changes cause it could be a cool little joint.... but as it stands, we won't go back til they figure out A LOT of things!! P.p.s. i have never written a review cause i think they can come off as being a spoiled brat... but this was so disappointing i felt compelled to share hoping the owners will shift some things and make this the awesome spot it...
