Never had an issue with this theatre until today. I was at the movies with my 2 friends (one of which has a physical disability from the bottom down) we went to go to a movie and noticed all the seats were reserved. We pointed at the disabled seats on the screen, and the lady declined us them although my friend HAS a disability. It is against policy to decline someone who requests that seating, at almost any place. We ended up purchasing tickets right at the front of the theatre, which required a lot of stepping up and down for my friend. The seats were too close and we all started to get headaches. Yes, we did purchase the seats so we couldnât complain about how close it was, but it wouldnât have happended if my friend was granted her disabled seat. And to add on to that, ABLE bodied people were in the disabled seats. (No way of knowing if they actually purchased those seats or moved there throughout the movie) we all ended up sitting on the floor of the theatre which we stayed there throughout almost the whole movie. A lady from management came up to us at the end of the movie saying us sitting on the floor was a fire hazard, which we totally understood and said sorry and just ended up exiting the movie. We left the movie and saw my friend that has the disabilities mom, and she ended up going to management and speaking to them. She wanted the money back but the manager was not budging. The manager even said to my friends mom, âit is against policy to decline someone disabled seating.â Which she just admitted they were wrong there. Eventually, we got the money back. Everything else about the theatre is great, like I said never had problems there before. But this experience leaves me with putting a 1star because people with disabilities should not be treated in this way, and should be getting seats that is...
Read moreI cannot say enough good things about Michael at Marquee Cinemas in Wakefield 12. Every single time I visit, he is there with the warmest smile and the kindest demeanor, and it truly makes all the difference. From the moment I walk in, Michaelâs genuine kindness and positivity create such an inviting atmosphere that makes me feel right at home. Itâs clear that he absolutely loves what he does, and it shines through in the way he treats everyone around him. Whether itâs a busy weekend night or a quiet weekday showing, he takes the time to greet every guest with enthusiasm and always goes out of his way to make sure everyone is happy and well taken care of.
Michael is the kind of person who reminds you that there are still wonderful, caring people in this world, and his presence alone can brighten even the dullest day. He doesnât just do his jobâhe makes every visit feel special, like youâre not just a customer, but a valued part of the experience. His energy is infectious, and he has an incredible ability to turn something as simple as going to the movies into a memorable occasion. Itâs rare to come across someone who cares so deeply about making sure each person leaves with a smile, but Michael does just that every single time. Honestly, he is a gem, and Marquee Cinemas is so lucky to have someone like him. He makes going to the movies not just a fun outing, but a truly joyful experience, and I am always looking forward to seeing his friendly face...
Read moreThe theater was clean. Not a fan of the way you get tickets. The reason for not giving 5 stars is because of our experience at the concession stand. Josephine was the cashier. We ordered a combo and one extra drink. She struggled to understand why we would want a second drink. Maybe because there were 2 of us đ€· She interrupted us ordering multiple times for things that could wait, until we just stopped ordering more items. It came time to pay. We noticed that she didn't charge us for one drink. She argued back that she did. But we were only charged for the combo and sides, but not the 2nd drink. We showed her and counted to 2 with her and she still argued. We did the math to explain that she was not charging us correctly. She STILL argued until I spelled it out for her. Then she fixed it in the register to charge us for the drink. No apology, no nothing, no accepting responsibility. No thank you either for our honesty. Not that we needed it, but only to explain how dense she was. She did nothing to try to do better. I don't think this is the job for her. She lacks the people skills, math skills (counting to 2), and common sense to do the job. The other girl at the register was touching her mouth before serving food, so we didn't choose her register. The seats reclined well, but the top section of the seats stick out too much and are uncomfortable. The theater and bathrooms were...
