THEY TAKE CONTROL OF YOUR KIDS! BEWARE!! THEY CALL CHILD SERVICES ON YOU!!
I have been going here for years and always loved Dr Briggs. BUT, once I had my son and used the nurse practitioner named Elizabeth, I will never trust them again!! Beware!!
We brought our son here at 10 days old on a Thursday to get him established. He was very healthy, got compliments from Dr Briggs on his health in the hallway, they weighed him and all was good. I nursed him while there and they weighed again to see how my milk was, he gained 1 ounce from a 15 minute nursing session. They commented on how my milk was good and no need to come the next week for a weight check. Well, they then changed their mind right there and said we needed to come back in four days to weigh him again.
Come that Monday (4 days later) I called them, canceled the appointment and told them I would reschedule later, I wasn’t feeling good. That Tuesday morning I was having severe abdominal pain, I called to be seen. They at first told me my son could be seen and weighed at 2:00 pm and I could be seen at 2:15 pm that same day. I said perfect. I get a call back not long after telling me with my symptoms they could not see me I needed to go to the ER. During this time my son was healthy and I was weighing him on a professional baby scale at home and he was gaining weight. They then called me back to back Thursday harassing me all day. I finally tell them I was not coming that week and that I was weighing him with my scale, he was gaining and all was good. Come that Saturday my symptoms got so bad I went to the ER. I had an obstructed colon overlapping my intestines causing a blockage. I was told I had to have emergency surgery to save my life. The cause was a tumor the size of a clementine. I was told on Sunday I had stage three colon cancer. That Monday I had a ton of missed calls and messages (which I saved) from neighborhood health saying I MUST CALL THEM, I MUST BRING MY SON IN FOR A WEIGHT CHECK. The messages sounded a little threatening. Well guess what, I didn’t see my messages, I just came out of a major surgery that removed half my colon, a tumor and 66 lymph nodes. The hospital I was in was the same hospital I delivered my son. The mother/baby was seeing my son and EVEN WEIGHING HIM. He was continuing to gain. That Tuesday morning when I could check my phone, I see a ton of messages from them. I call them and tell them what happened, that he was being weighed at the hospital and they could call them for the results. They then tell me HE MUST BE SEEN BY A PEDIATRICIAN. A few hours later my husband who is in the hospital with my son, my mom and I gets a call from child protection services. Yes, they called social services on us all because we didn’t come in for a weight check on their timing. I then call them back and had a few words with Dr Elizabeth who admitted to calling social services. She also told me I needed to tell her where and when I would take my son in the future for weight checks!!! I told her that was non of her business, she continued bullying me on the phone repeating she NEEDS TO KNOW! I told her under my constitutional right I did not need to tell her where I would be going in the future. All the while I am in the hospital just undergoing major surgery and getting the news I have cancer. My mom and husband was there with me the whole time feeding our son hospital donor breast milk. So I am warning everyone who has kids beware of the pediatrician side at neighborhood health. I kept the messages on my phone from them for proof of this.
We since then switched to another pediatrician who we are established with, who said his weight gain is great. He is a very healthy baby. We absolutely love our new pediatrician who actually cares about our baby and what I went through. We told our new pediatrician what happened at neighborhood health and he said to call the news station about it. He cannot believe they went that far when everything was checking out great with our son and we were in...
Read morePlease do not come here. They do not take you in the exam room for your appointment on time. I’ve been waiting almost over an hour and this isn’t the first time this has happened. The nurses or whoever they have checking you in do not know protocols or what’s going on at appointments and I have been told the wrong thing numerous times. All the doctors are on different pages so you will get mixed answers and be left confused. Oh and it is on you if you don’t catch anything like test results or what your appointment is being made for. I was told that mistakes happen… they sure do but not repeatedly especially in health care. No bedside manners. They don’t even say hey how are you… nothing. You won’t be accommodated for anything not even when something is clearly not your fault. Apologies aren’t made. Healthcare has just gone down the drain anymore. Make sure you do your own research on yourself, test results, etc. I would never bring my kids or my family here. You’re better off just searching google.
Update 12/23/24 I finished care here because I was hopeful for a different experience and honestly I should have never came here. I will say the first visit I had made me seem hopeful and positive but when I came for the 2nd visit and there after it has been just a nightmare. I feel unsafe, uncomfortable, and uncared for from the receptionist to the technicians that check you in, nurses, and drs. I was made out to be a problem rather than a patient. It really feels like the “owner” is all about making money then focusing on quality patient care. Maybe actually listen to people rather than just judge them and force your opinions on people. Not everybody is being difficult when they are saying I am not able to do this but can do this. That’s also not a refusal and it is being compliant. Take accountability on your part and actually apologize for mistakes instead of trying to cover them up by...
Read moreI'm giving them 2 stars because the actual provider and clinical staff met my expectations at my initial appointment. However, the ability to contact the office has been horrible. At my first appointment with them , I received my first covid vaccine. They scheduled the next one for 2 weeks later. Three days before my scheduled appointment, they left me a message stating they would like to schedule it for another day due to the nurse being out that day. When I called back, they transferred me to the covid department. They did not answer, so I left a message. I then called back several times over the course of 3 days, still never got a call back. The morning of my scheduled appointment, I called to see if I still had an appointment. The operator kept transferring me to the same person (Whitney), who never answered or responded. The operator then said she would have front desk call me to let me know about my appointment. An hour later, still no call. So I called back, asking why it is so hard to get an immediate response whether I have an appointment today or not! She transferred me again to Whitney, who of course did not answer. I left an unhappy message at this point. This is so out of character for me, because I'm usually very respectful and work in healthcare myself. But this is absolutely unacceptable. Update Whitney finally called back and told me I did have an appointment. But boy do I wish I DIDN'T have one! After waiting a few minutes short of an hour after my appointment time, I was given my vaccine by a nurse who dropped gloves on the floor, and stuffed them back in the box. And then, after realizing they never gave me updated documentation that I received my 2nd dose of the vaccine, I drove back to the office. Only to find out, I was given the...
