NCMA Amphitheater — Attraction in Raleigh

The NCMA Amphitheater is a popular venue for concerts and events in the Triangle area, but few people are aware of its history. Before it was transformed into an entertainment site, it used to be a detention center and a prison, where inmates were held and supervised by the nearby police station. I know this because I once applied for a job as a HWY patrol officer there, and I would often see the prisoners exercising in the yard as I left work. Cozy venue! The reserved seats look awesome but I've never sat there, they do look to be concrete so you may need a blanket or cushion. Lawn seats are nice but the slope is a little flat so you may not have the clearest view.
