Life changing. My primary care doc recommended Specialists in Plastic Surgery (SIPs) and the experience was above and beyond. I was so nervous for so many reasons, I mean seriously⦠elective surgery = Choosing to have surgery?!?!?!? I felt vain. But Iād always had a turkey neck and saved money for years so that I could have a neck lift. The SIPs staff made me feel confident in my decision and everyone was so amazing. From the initial consultation through the post-op appointments the entire staff made me smile and laugh and comfortable. I literally took two pages of questions to the consultation with Dr. Daluvoy! He was patient and thorough and kind and made me feel comfortable. Then thereās Anna. Oh what an absolute wonder this woman is! On top of making me feel better about myself and my choice to get a neck lift, she educated me. She talked me through the skin science of it all. Itās been months since that lesson from Anna and Iāve stuck with my new skin care routine and your jaw would drop if you saw the before and after pics of my skin. That day I went home with a timeline leading up to the surgery as well as a post-op plan. But then the questions kept popping into my head. And SIPs was so flipping amazing about me calling and/or messaging to ask them! Nurse Hannah practically held my hand the week before my surgery and then many weeks AFTER. She listened to my concerns and questions. She was my ROCK, for sure. Every single person I crossed paths with at that practice was kind and friendly. Please note that I had the same people work with me through the entire process. I had a true team of people that genuinely listened and cared and got to know me. It was incredible. They set a standard for care that Iāve never experienced. Plastic surgery is no joke. The commitment. The money. The day after pain!!!! BUT if you decide to make a nip or a tuck realize that it takes a surgeon/artist. I hadnāt thought about it until my many many many conversations with Anna and Hannah (you know, due to the one million questions) but there is a vast difference between the gallbladder removal surgery and the neck lift surgery. Yes, my gallbladder surgeon took her time, did a great job and was nice and tidy with the aesthetics of the incisions to minimize scarring. But then think about what the plastic surgeon is doing. Then ENTIRE process is essentially a sculpture. He didnāt just want to get rid of my turkey waddle and stitch me up. He worked with what he saw during the surgery. Made changes due to what was there and how it reacted to what he was doing. He tweaked and re-tweaked. Think about how delicate you must be to move skin around and put it back together so that it not only looks a certain way but looks that way and is flawless and natural. Dr. Daluvoy is as much an artist as he is a surgeon. Because of him and his team I am more comfortable and confident. Such a wild and wonderful feeling. Thank you SIPs!
So now that it's been a handful of months I wanted to add a couple of things. There were multiple post op visits and the quality of care did not diminish whatsoever. And of course neither did my question asking. This was an investment I made in myself and SIPS has been fully open to me contacting them with questions about various products for my skin care routine and they have a fantastic selection. It's so incredible how when I stop in to ask a question or pick up a product I can have a conversation with Angie who was my consultation specialist and out of however many hundreds of patients she's had, she remembers so much about our conversations we've had And Brooklyn!!!! She's just so fantastic and helpful and patient as I sit there and ramble to her. Again absolutely...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI started a long-term weight loss and exercise program on my birthday, March 25, 2012. I weighed 187 lbs.--the heaviest in my life. Since I am only 5 ft. 2 inches high--that was a LOT of ugly, unhealthy and seriously depressing fat and flab. I was 64 years old.
What I did not reckon on was this fact: no matter how much inner body fat one loses--the outer body skin just keeps hanging on everywhere--like a giant deflated balloon. (ugh...)
By August, 2017 I'd gotten down to 140 lbs. and consulted with my personal physician, Dr. Corey Musselman, about the possibility of plastic surgery to get rid of all the unwanted excess skin. He put me through a battery of medical exams to determine if I could be a successful candidate for plastic surgery--at my then age of 69-- before he could/would recommend me to anyone for a full body "renovation and restoration." I passed them all with flying colors!
Dr. Musselman sent me directly to Dr. Richard Carlino with his full confidence that I would be totally satisfied with his care and competence.
I have now been Dr. Carlino's client/patient since our first surgeries (mastopexy and brachioplasty) on 2/28/2018. On 8/15/2019, he performed an extended adominoplasty. And, finally, he completed our surgical plan on 6/29/21 with an SMAS facelift and a bilateral lower blepharoplasty.
I am now 73 years young--feeling beautiful for the first time since my college years-- and smiling thankfully when I look into my bathroom mirror each morning.
Bottom line-- Dr. Carlino promised that when we completed our plastic surgery procedures together-- I would look rested, refreshed, and about 10 years younger. He delivered that and more. I feel 20 years younger and look physically better than I have since my early 40's.
He's more than a brilliant plastic surgeon. He's also the consummate artist. And I thank him for restoring my delight and confidence with "the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI have to share my unfortunate experience with this practice and Dr. Blanton because I do not want another cancer patient to go through what I had to. Upon my first consultation I felt that I was in excellent hands. However, shortly after my bilateral mastectomy and reconstructive surgery I discovered otherwise.
At my pre operative appointment I was given my prescriptions and directions for taking the medication. They made two errors in prescribing them which caused a great deal of discomfort and pain.
After the oncologist performed the mastectomy Dr. Blanton started the reconstructive surgery by placing tissue expanders in. The expanders were extremely uncomfortable and after a few months one became dislocated. During my final appointment filling the expanders Dr. Blanton said that I could schedule surgery for the exchange to permanent implants in three months. However, when I called to schedule the procedure the coordinator said he did not have availability for six months.
According to the website of the manufacturer of the tissue expanders they should not be left in for longer than six months. Mine were in for almost nine. I expressed my concern and was told they could not work me in earlier. I tried to find another surgeon but was not able to find one who accepted insurance.
It is truly inconceivable to me that they would treat anyone this way especially a woman going through breast cancer. . I did speak with the office manager about my concerns and she was dismissive and unsympathetic.
I am confused by all the positive reviews because certainly this could not be an isolated case. It is possible that because it is a highly personal matter that others have not given...
