I read all about this new "NY Style Deli" online, looked at the reviews and the pictures and was excited, only to be let down. Let me explain - went in and looked at the menu, looks good, walk up to a smiling sandwich maker, and tell her what I want, a NJ Sloppy Joe - which is Rye, Turkey, Russian Dressing, Cole Slaw, and Swiss Cheese. I told her exactly how to make it, and the sandwich maker starts asking ?'s - do I want lettuce, tomato, red peppers, nope, just what I asked for. Ok, we don't have cole slaw, other than as a side, ok, I will take it as is, and she cuts a piece of bread in half - rye, that is more like white bread than rye bread - think squishy bread, not the NY style rye that I expected. Puts a dab of Russian on both sides, and then weighs the turkey that is precut (shaved) and puts a single slide of swiss and then the preweighed turkey - this is not an overstuffed sandwich like what I expected from the pictures. I asked for more Russian and the Cole Slaw, only to find that they only have Cole Slaw as a side in a tub, oh well. The the sandwich maker fold up the sandwich, and I ask is that a half of a whole, and she said a half, and asked if I wanted a whole, now I am really confused. Moving on, get the sandwich - they put two round pickles in the paper - thus the name, and the pickles were more like butter pickles than a good NY sour or half sour pickle. Go to pay and for half a sandwich and a drink with a tip it was over $15 - surprised again. Took it back to my seat inside and opened it up and took a bite, meh, would not come back. Sandwich was flavorless and lacked anything to resemble a good NY sandwich. I also watched the staff warm up precut corned beef and pastrami in the microwave - cardinal sin. Cut it fresh and have a steam table to keep it hot. Would not recommend, and my friend ordered a knish - which they have the squared fried ones, and they microwaved it to warm it up and it lost all of its consistency. Plus, they asked if he wanted yellow or deli mustard - really? Deli is the only way to go. So much promise, yet so sad to say that I took one for the team and will not...
Read moreBrooklyn Pickle – A Deli Sandwich Lover’s Dream in Raleigh, NC!
During my recent trip to Raleigh, I had the pleasure of visiting Brooklyn Pickle—not once, but twice in just three days! That alone should tell you how incredible this place is. If you’re a fan of piled-high, flavorful, and perfectly crafted sandwiches, this spot is an absolute must-visit.
Let’s start with the pastrami—wow. This wasn’t just any pastrami sandwich; it was a masterpiece. The pastrami was tender, juicy, and seasoned to perfection, stacked so high that I almost had to strategize how to take my first bite. Every bite was packed with rich, smoky, and slightly peppery goodness, and the bread was fresh and sturdy enough to hold all that deliciousness together. As soon as I finished, I knew I had to come back before I left town.
On my second visit, I decided to branch out and try the Cuban sandwich, and let me tell you—it did not disappoint. The combination of slow-roasted pork, ham, Swiss cheese, pickles, and mustard on that perfectly pressed bread was absolute perfection. Every bite was a balance of salty, tangy, and slightly sweet flavors, with that satisfying crunch from the toasty exterior.
Beyond the food, the atmosphere at Brooklyn Pickle was fantastic. The place had a great energy—clean, welcoming, and buzzing with the sounds of happy customers. The staff was friendly and efficient, making sure everything was just right. Even though it was busy, my orders came out quickly, and you could tell that they take pride in what they do.
Whether you’re a sandwich connoisseur or just someone looking for an incredible meal, Brooklyn Pickle is a must-visit. I’m already looking forward to my next trip to Raleigh, because I know exactly where I’ll be eating first! If you love big, bold, and delicious sandwiches, do yourself a favor and check this place out—you...
Read moreFlavor was fresh tasting and amazing and make sure to order from the asian girls they are always there and ready to serve the other employees at the other end of the counter I don't know what they're doing in there because it was chaos between themselves and I waited at least 3 minutes nobody asked what I wanted it was like the left-handed know what the right hand was doing, but also your going to pay Brooklyn pricing I don't quite understand the logic if a sandwich is 12:50 then a half should be 6.50 if they have cost them more to make the upcharge shouldn't be no more than a 1.00 I don't know why they ask for a tip for doing their job because they don't bring it to the table you have to get it yourself, you have to get your own napkins and utensils ETC I gave a tip anyway because her service was A step above, even made sure I was satisfied with my meal afterwards, even remembered me from the last time I was there . I have been there twice, first was take out in the second time I sat on the porch outside. I would go there again just because the food is so good and couldn't wait to go back. Not adding pictures because you must experience it for yourself. Tell them to bring back the liverwurst, just not a brooklyn deli without that. Last but not least that water pressure needs to be turned down on the water dispenser to keep our...
