Southern Sugar Bakery — Local services in Raleigh

From the time I first contacted Angie and Christin of Southern Sugar Bakery the experience was absolutely fantastic. I was assigned Tracy Barefoot as my Customer Consultant, and from there the relationship took off. Whatever questions I had, Tracy responded almost immediately with concise and detailed replies.

Follow through with updates and delivery information was always available through web site links.

Once received, I was completely overwhelmed at the detail incorporated into each and every cookie. Each cookie individually wrapped to stay fresh for at least a week.

At the event, the cookies were an absolute success!! So much so, that the guests were taking the cookies and putting them into "goodie" bags to take home. Since this was a Baby Shower with Woodland Creatures as a theme, the guests children will surely be happily surprised.

Since this was a "girls" event only, I didn't have a chance to taste them nor did my wife have the opportunity to even bring one home. There wasn't a cookie left at the close of the event!

I heard about Southern Sugar Bakery on YouTube and decided to give them a try via their wevbsite. I ordered a dozen chocolate chip cookies. It took a while to receive them, which is one of the few reasons I'm giving them 4 stars instead of 5. Like I almost forgot about them by the time I got them.

I was very pleasantly surprised to find that each cookie was individually packaged in a small plastic bag. This is a fantastic idea to help the cookies stay fresh! The cookies are delicious. They are large and packed with chocolate chips. And not just any chocolate chips. I don't know what kind they use, but they are definitely a level above what most places use. I would not describe the texture of the cookies as either soft or hard. They are somewhere in between. They are easily breakable into bite-size pieces so they certainly aren't hard but they also are not like a soft cookie you would bake at home. The cookies sometimes had a bit too much salt for my taste. Not every cookie, but some of them.

There was also a lovely Personal Touch Inside the Box. A handwritten note referencing the person on YouTube that I heard about them from and hoping that the cookies were as good as expected. In these days of digital everything, that is a...

I ordered my first set of custom cookies from these ladies back when they were just starting out. They were beautifully designed, baked to perfection, and simply melted in my mouth. All these years later, nothing has changed. Any time I’m around someone trying a SSB cookie for the first time, I love their reactions. A beautifully decorated cookie is great... but when the level of taste matches the level of decoration? You can’t ask for anything more. Yet there is still more! Christin, Angie, and their team are top-knotch. They handle each inquiry quickly and with just as much excitement as the person ordering. They realize that these aren’t just cookies- they are memories in the making. Part of a baby shower, a three year old’s birthday, how a bride asks her girls to be bridesmaids, telling the kids they are going to Disney World. Each cookie set tells a different story and brings so much joy to everyone who partakes. I have yet to find another bakery that can even come close to what SSB delivers. Keep up the incredible...
