Worst experience EVER!! The Raleigh Dinner Detective "dinner" experience was probaly the worst experience I've had since covid. The manager/owner didn't care that there was an issue only gave a "how dare you call and complain" attitude, when all we wanted was a simple apology and confirmation that it would be fixed. This was supposed to be a fun dinner outing, but they ruined the evening!! We booked for a birthday dinner experience and checked in only to find out that they "miscounted" the seats and did not have a place for us to sit. SERIOUSLY, THIS IS A DINNER EXPERIENCE! How do you not have enough seats??? They had to bring out a separate table to seat us, which meant we would not get the FULL EXPERIENCE. There were no actors at the table, no QR codes, no clues under the chair. When speaking with the manager/owner on the phone, she was aggressive and rude. The manager claimed that it was a "human" mistake and that we had to have more "grace" while they fixed it. Then she said we should leave as we weren't the "right kind of people" because we didnt have enough grace. As customers we tried and wanted to have a fun experience and were so disappointed that we did not get that experience. To further complete the disastrous experience, the food was not as promised when we booked...the "chocolate mousse cake" was basic dry yellow cake with chocolate frosting. The host tried, but the whole experience was lacking. I would definitely not suggest this experience if you want to be entertained and have a decent meal because even with reservation you might not get a seat!

This show sucks. Most of the reviews are because you’re promised a special treat at the end if you leave a good review. They literally go around and force you to show your phone and the 5 star review before they tell you what the treat is. NEWS FLASH it’s a shot glass. The whole thing made no sense and the actors were horrible. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY. Also the dinner was nasty.

Mystery dinner is a nice twist to enjoy dinner with a loved one, friends or family! The actors were awesome and comedic…and majority of the attendees fun and personable. I definitely recommend attending if you’re looking for a new way to dine & laugh. 🖤💙🤍

Overall good experience. This is dinner theater so expect to eat as things are happening.

The food: We found the food pretty good and the reviews complaining about this don't make sense to us. You get a salad (good mix of stuff), bread, sample from a charcuterie board, choice of chicken/salmon with rice and veggies, and chocolate cake for dessert. Tea and water are on the table. The food comes in waves and is mixed in as the show progresses. I found all food great and no issues with quality or freshness.

I had one small "issue" in the cleanliness of the table. Imagine sharing a table with 8 strangers. Ok fine. However, all had to touch the salad dressing (spoon in a bowl), bread basket, charcuterie board, etc. We were surprised by this but not appalled. Someone might be. Wait staff cleans up as you eat. We never got a plate for the bread and everyone was eating off the table cloth. Also water was never refilled. We had to go to the bar (alcohol is extra) to get bottled water. Details!

The show: Since this is a murder mystery thing, you get to mingle, read clues, make a prediction. We liked the interactive aspect of it and even picked the correct suspect and was close to the motive. We quickly figured out who the actors were based on their actions and clear practice. They were excellent and did a great job. We enjoyed the show and being a detective ourselves. Loved being able to pick our own name--we did Elliot Stabler and Olivia Benson.

Overall fun. Details could make...

In my opinion it’s definitely overpriced for the food and performance. The whole thing felt pretty impromptu with no real structure and a lot of random yelling/outbursts. Very thrown together. I’d say it’s worth maybe $30-$50. The videos I saw online didn’t compare to my actual experience. They say they give you a prize at the end for a review. I originally rated 2 stars and when I showed it to them for the surprise they said it had to be 5 stars in order to get the “special surprise” I’m not going to be dishonest in my reviews but looking around they passed out shot glasses so it wasn’t worth lying for in my opinion. It makes me wonder if that’s where most of the misleading 5 star reviews came from. The food was also very bad. Make sure you eat before you come but that defeats the purpose of a dinner and a show. Maybe children will enjoy it but definitely not adults. I’d pick just going to a nice restaurant like Perry’s down the street and spending the same amount, at least the food is good 🤷🏻‍♀️ Also judging by the responses from other low reviews the owner seems pretty unprofessional so I don’t expect him/her to respond nicely to this but it’s my honest opinion which I’m entitled to. Hopefully they take the constructive criticism and make changes but I most definitely won’t refer people...
