Cascade Swim Center — Local services in Redmond

I am from out of town and brought my two young daughters to swim at the outside pools. I was very disturbed to find what looked like a homeless junkie walking around filming all the children. I asked him not to film my kids which angered him so he filmed them more. I tried to talk to a staff member but they informed me he was a member and since I was not if I had a problem I could just leave. We did just that. Before leaving the junkie came over to my sitting area while I was packing up, eating a piece of pizza, and informed me that if wanted to purchase the footage of my kids he would be willing to sell it to me otherwise he would be posting the video on YouTube. He told me he regularly films children here and makes his living posting these videos online. Well maintained for it's age. Impressive actually. Spa is too enclosed and exacerbates the combined chlorine issue, especially in a Natatorium. Chlorine is an oxidizer and it "burns" up the bad stuff in the water. Your eyes watering is from the smoke of that fire. The smell of "chlorine" in a pool is not because there is TOO much, it's because there isn't enough to burn up all the "contaminates" in the water fast enough so your smelling the "smoke" from the chlorine burning up the urine, perfumes, deodorants, sweat, etc. It takes time for all that to happen. Shower it off before getting in the pool!!! Or don't wear it to the pool to begin with. Few people working there will truly understand the issue except the Technicians. No, not even the lifeguards...

They're great! The lifeguards not only watch the children and pay attention to everyone, but they even intervened and respectfully asked a very disrespectful and inappropriate individual (Jacinda Evanoff) to leave the pool when she began to swear and yell due to an age appropriate child sitting quietly on the other side of the hot tub with adult supervision. They even went above and beyond and offered us a refund for our visit due to the experience with that individual which we declined as it was no fault of theirs.
