I had In Tune work on my Tahoe upgrading the head unit to a wireless car play unit and the hope of upgrading the sound quality. You would be better served to save your money, purchase the same items they sell and try your hand at installing your stereo needs or bring your stuff to the guys in Bend, these guys don't have it I promise you that. Take your vehicle here at your own risk.
After the installation I picked up the vehicle and noticed a few issues. I had called and emailed with my concerns with no follow up for a month. I drove to the store and immediately upon coming inside they knew exactly who I was and unprompted from me said, "we called you, didn't we?"... No, you never did.
Due to their installation, I now have multiple cracked trim pieces in my vehicle including my dash. Any DIY guy could do that for himself and not get charged for it. So, thanks. I had a clean vehicle until you guys touched it.
Instead of acknowledging those mistakes on initial install and creating an acceptable fix they tried to cover it up by gluing them back on. Is this the type of professionalism I should expect for an 1800 dollars? Would you do this in your car? It was clear they covered it up which is frustrating. Upon my follow up visit these trim pieces were promised to be replaced with new parts. I was told they had already ordered the parts, but they didn't have a shipping date. They would make a phone call to me when the parts were in. That was over 3 months ago. So a lie then?
The installation of the new head unit was supposed to come with a sound check and phone call to let me know of any needs or changes they might suggest (Seems simple enough?). No phone call was issued. And clearly no sound check was performed with any type of integrity. They took it upon themselves to add front door speakers, which I will admit sound great, but this was never discussed. I'm not mad about the speakers. But again, this is a business that is taking your money for a service. The hope would be you get that from a phone call for the money that's a small expectation.
Finally, the new head unit install was presented to me with a very audible white noise to the install. The sound is always present as soon as the vehicle starts. I requested this be addressed as a potential grounding issue or setup issue. They kept my vehicle to fix all issues for several days after the initial install and followed up with their findings by saying "your ears must be better than mine". Sir, everyone that has rode in the vehicle since has better ears than you it seems because they all notice it.
IN TUNE advertises itself as car stereo experts, let me tell you in no uncertain terms, they don't care to fulfill a quality job for you, and they don't have the ability. Like I said at the outset, these guys do...
Read moreThank Bob, I had my iPad with me on my trip to Redmond; I'd thought I knew where In-Tune was, but it was in the completely opposite direction! I laughed when I pulled up to the store - it was a LOT CLOSER to Hwy. 126, than I'd visualized and very convenient to get in and out of, when coming from Sisters. It's a, "Mom & Pop" store, as the gentleman who helped me, told me (I think he was the owner) and the attention, care and humor with which he addressed each customer and their inquiries/needs was refreshing. The facility itself (I only saw the showroom, not the install bays) seemed relatively small, at first, but the longer I was there, the more efficient and well planned-out it seemed; probably one of the best car stereo stores I've ever seen. (And I used to sell home and car stereo, too.) The speaker/stereo demo room looked fantastic! I only came in to order a new antenna and installation for my present auto, but I'm seriously considering going back and looking into pricing an Alpine system; I've had one before and it was awesome. The only caveat I might have, is that you might have to be patient; at the time I was in, there was only the owner at the front counter and he was on the phone, trying to help somebody who'd gotten their framus cross-wired with their do-hickey, which was about to cause some sort of inter-dimensional, sonic ka-blabbitz! (Don't worry, he worked it out with the customer.) So, at the time I was there, the store could've really used another body in the showroom (a live one, of course), to help, but once the gentleman was off the phone, he was quick, efficient and very pleasant and knowledgeable. I can't...
Read moreUnfortunately until recently I would have given these guys a 5 star review. We trusted them with multiple home stereo installs and were very happy with their work. But when we recently went back for a car stereo install, Iâve been forced to change my mind.
First, they accidentally sold the stereo that they initially sold us, leaving behind the only option that the manager told me, âI wouldnât install in my car,â but only AFTER it had been installed. OR they could install a significantly more expensive stereo that didnât have the things that we needed. And then the first time we used it, it broke and wouldnât navigate without a hard restart of the whole system. The backup camera that was installed also failed the first time it was used. They installed 2 different systems, each time promising that the system would check off all the things that we told them that we needed, and none actually came close to what we needed at all, despite their guarantees. They told us that they replaced all the speakers, only to find that 2 hadnât even been touched. And then when they called to say that the vehicle was ready, I arrived with the door panel uninstalled and the window detached, with a significant amount work that still needed to be done. The speaker still doesnât work, the stereo is brand new but unreliable, and when probed about their confidence in the system they cussed at me and treated me like a child.
They donât seem to be familiar with their products, they arenât able to follow through with standard customer requests, and we have no confidence that the work done is reliable, quality,...
