Got attacked an hour ago at Night in the parking lot of Redondo Beach Target. a homeless dude was chasing me with a weapon for 2mins. I asked for help to an employee who completely ignored me and the situation, I ran around him since the homeless dude was still after me and then the homeless man attacked the employee who after the attack kept ignoring the whole situation unfolding. I kept screaming for help since I just ran 4miles and did 3 hours of boxing and lifting weights. I was too tired and sore to defend myself if I didn’t keep my distance. No one was calling the police untill a lady in a car honked and distracted the assailant enough for me to get inside my truck. He then charged at me in my truck and followed my vehicle. I scream for people to get back inside Target but they weren’t listening and another customer got attacked. He was then released after the lady and I kept honking at him. Another Employee with a yellow vest walked around my car just all nonchalantly and didn’t call 911. I finally called 911 because the homeless man was going erratic and multiple people were coming out of target since it was closing. I was screaming at the top of my lungs for the people to get back inside target and barrack the entrance and I told the employee to go to her car or inside the store. Finally the 911 operator told me there was multiple police finally arriving. 3 cop cars with 6 cops in total pulled up. I left because I need to sleep early and train early because my boxing competition is in 2 days but overall these employees needs to be retrained not only for the public and customers safety but also for their own safety. This Target is failing everyone from the community to the customers to its very own employees. If the employees are too inept or high or intoxicated to understand the dangerous situation, they deserve to be fired, if the managers don’t want to retrain people, they deserve...
Read moreMy experience today inside this Target was traumatizing. The employee ringing me up at the Tech department stopped ringing me up to answer another customer’s question, then proceeded to allow the customer to keep asking questions for another couple of minutes. The employee did not apologize for the inconvenience or even ask me if it was ok for him to step away to answer this other customer’s questions. I finally asked the other customer to please wait because the employee was currently ringing me up and the other customer called me a b**ch at least 5 times in front of my 6 year old child. The employee allowed the customer to stay in the department to continue to verbally assault me while he finished ringing me up. Again, the employee did not apologize or ask if me or my child was ok, considering this man is walking around the department behind us continuing to repeat profanities to me in front of my child. The employee did not care that this man was verbally attacking me and could have followed us to my car to attack us even more. He did not alert security. One thing to note is that I am a woman and both the employee and other customer are men. Sorry To say though because the Customer Service team is so incredibly nice, but I have witnessed myself on too many occasions (@least 10-15) what seem to be regular family and even single people customers being harassed and stopped by whom I assume is loss prevention and the treatment of these paying customers seems completely unacceptable and highly unprofessional. I don’t know if it’s just policy or if maybe they are having issues with this but It seems to me that they are not thinking about the fact that they are being very disrespectful and discriminatory to certain people and I am aware of many other people who have made the decision to stay away from this location because of these practices and I really think that management should really look into the policy of “shaking down “ the loyal customers that are basically paying their salaries.
