My recent experience with Michael & Sons Jewelers, my first time doing business with them, left me greatly disappointed and feeling unheard. I recently purchased a pendant for a very nice thick woven silver chain. . Given that the bail on my new pendant was too small to fit on my chain, I approached a woman at the jewelry counter at Michael & Sons Jewelers to discuss my needs and desired design.

During our conversation, she assured me that their skilled artisans would be able to fulfill my request and create a bail similar to the one on my previous pendant. I left my jewelry with them, expecting to receive a call once the pendant was ready.

Approximately a week later, I received a message stating that my pendant was ready for pickup. Excitedly, I rushed to the jeweler to retrieve my cherished possession.

However, upon examining the bail, I was dismayed to find that it bore no resemblance to what we had discussed. It was glaringly evident that the work did not align with my specifications, leaving me upset and frustrated. Seizing the opportunity, I called over the woman who had initially assisted me and expressed my disappointment. To my surprise, she casually explained that the jeweler had made an independent decision, believing that a different style of bail would look better. Shockingly, I was not consulted or informed about this change - they simply proceeded without any regard for my personal order. Due to time constraints, as I was on a break from work, I reluctantly paid for the pendant and left feeling a whirlwind of emotions, primarily upset and frustrated that my specific request had not been fulfilled as promised.

In an attempt to address the issue, I promptly called the shop and requested a call back from the owner or manager.

I emphasized my dissatisfaction with the unfulfilled order and the complete lack of communication regarding any changes made.

Being direct and transparent, my intention is to write a business review sharing my poor experience thus far. It is important to note that my desire in voicing my concerns is to express my disappointment regarding the complete disregard for my personal order and the absence of any communication regarding changes made.

As a first-time customer at Michael & Sons Jewelers, I had hoped for a positive experience that would encourage a long-term relationship. We were so impressed with Michael & Sons that we will never go to any other jeweler in town! I got my wedding band from this jeweler back in 2020. My engagement ring is custom made and very unique, so I decided to just get a cute band that I liked to wear on a separate finger since it would be hard to find a band to match my ring. My husband and I just celebrated our five year wedding anniversary and I told him I’d like a custom band that goes with my engagement ring so I can wear them as a set. I had no idea what my husband had in store for me, it turned out better than I ever could have imagined! Instead of just a band, he had the most beautiful ring guard made. He used some family heirloom diamonds in combination with new diamonds. Michael & Sons made a custom ring mold and filled it with white gold, then added all the diamonds. They made sure it perfectly lined up with my engagement ring and even added our wedding date on the inside of the rings. They did a phenomenal job—it looks like the same jeweler who made the engagement ring made the ring guard even though they are actually from jewelers in different parts of the country!

The ring came with an excellent warranty policy that has a lot of great features for maintaining the high quality of this jewelry. We ended up getting an appraisal done here too and I’ve already brought in other jewelry for them to fix. David is the owner and my husband had nothing but wonderful things to say about him and his associates! Everyone was very professional and kind. My husband loved that he was able to work together with David to create something beautiful that we loved. There are cameras everywhere and we love that they do all their work and appraisals in-house without sending your jewelry out anywhere. Everything was so fast too. From my husband approaching them with his idea to when we had the ring guard in hand was about a week and a half! And the appraisal only took a few days. I have put off compiling this review because I feel I cannot do this business justice in writing. Michael & Sons has provided me with the best service hands-down, and I highly recommend trusting them with your engagement ring needs. Not only do they have a large yet unique selection, they also are very competitively priced and are more than willing to work with the customer. It was such a positive experience, and I am so happy knowing that I have a trustworthy resource for ring care and future purchases.

Michelle helped me through the whole process and is an absolute stand-out. I had originally gone in to ask if they would be able to resize an engagement ring purchased through Costco. Although they were more than willing to help, it became easy to see what I was missing out on buying from a large retailer versus a small business (i.e., personalized service, expertise, client education, ability to customize, etc.). Michelle was beyond patient with me, and through several appointments, my partner and I were able to narrow down what we wanted and came in way under budget. She was never anything short of friendly and excited for us. Furthermore, they rushed service for me twice - once to mount/resize and then to resize a second time. They truly wanted everything to be just right for me.

I cannot sing the praises of this business highly enough. If you are on the fence about where to start your shopping or just want some great education and direction without ever feeling pressured to make a purchase, this is the place.
